Maybe many many years down the line but didi was immense year on year!!Ok let me rephrase what I wrote. He has having the same impact on games that Didi used to. There is striking stat which both have in common - Didi was frequently on top of the most tackles for (what was known as back in the day) the Carling Opta stats. And Lucas is the same. In fact Lucas is top in Europe. I can never in my life recall a player improving so much when playing at the same club (obviously Torres improved a hell of a lot overnight when he signed for us but he came from a different team).Originally posted by Chris View PostAgreed, I love Lucas but he's nowhere close to Didi yet. Hopefully we can talk about him in the same way in 3-4-5 years or whatever but he's got a way to go.
Didi was an amazing player - I learnt the art of holding the ball up just by watching him play. But Lucas for me is definitely playing at the same level Didi used to.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

Hamann is one of my favourite LFC players of all time

Nothing too outrageous about that IMO. Hamann didn't join us til he was 26 and kept improving into his 30s. Lucas is still just 24 and already playing at a very high level whether you like it or not.
I'm not really into comparing players of different generations but Lucas is a future Liverpool captain and that says it all. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's playing far better than that. He's a quality player who's mastering the art of winning the ball back and is effective in giving it like he did with that brilliant pass to Suarez for Carroll's goal on the weekend.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostHe's really not. He's playing at a John Obi Mikel level and being hailed as a world class player. It's beyond funny now, it's just sad.
He's not at Didi's level yet, I'd swap him for Mascherano in an instant but he's a really good player.

Laugh all you want, there are dozens of players I'd take before Lucas at CM. Dozens. He's "alright", he's a good lad and a top pro, but if we want to be a top side, we've got to have stronger presence in the middle, and he's not one.
He's overrated beyond madness and to mention him in the same breath as Hamann is disrespectful to Didi.
