Pretty much all of our players are over-rated by our fans. Same with most clubs. Good player though.

You want me to list all the players in the world I'd take before Lucas at CM?
You're the one having a laugh, I could list nearly every CM playing regular football in a top side and they'll probably be either better overall players, more well rounded, or specialist defensive midfielders like Lucas who are actually physically gifted and can dominate with their athleticism.
The only reason Lucas is being praised is that he has "shined" and improved in a season where everyone else was **** and everything else looked gloomy and it's stuck. We had a steady specialist defensive midfielder, one of the most overrated and easiest jobs in the game, run around the pitch a lot, put his foot in and keep it simple when passing, and he suddenly looked amazing in an awful side.
He is still a steady defensive midfielder who runs around the pitch a lot, puts his foot in and keeps it simple. Is that world class? Like **** it is.

Extraordinarily simplistic.
It's John Doe's monthly Lucas meltdown
I suppose you've got to rant about him somehow given he's one of the first names on the team sheet despite your loopy assertions that he'd find himself in the wilderness. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

And we have won absolutely **** all while finishing 7th and 6th in the league in the two seasons he's been an ever present in the side. While not pinning it on him alone obviously, I'd like to see Lucas regularly play in a side challenging for trophies. I don't think he's of the quality we need and I think as long as he's regarded as a key player for us, we're going to stay where we're at.Originally posted by Assassin View PostLucas has been ever present under the last 3 managers. A **** load of money has been spent and not a penny of that on a replacement for Lucas. Why do you think that is?
Because he is highly regarded, highly effective and a great player

FEW players demonstrate the value of persistence as much as Lucas Leiva. And few players can have endured a greater baptism of fire at Liverpool than the Brazilian.
During those difficult first steps following his arrival at Anfield in the summer of 2007, it seemed inconceivable that supporters would be lamenting his absence.
But with suspension ruling Lucas out of tomorrow’s Premier League visit of Norwich, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish admits the midfielder will be a significant loss.
“He’s been fantastic this season for us,” said the Scot. “It will be a miss. But he’ll serve his game and it’s up to us to overcome that.
“At the end of the day that’s what you have a strong squad for – to overcome injuries and suspensions. This is the first suspension of the season so we have to cover it.
“We have to make sure that, although we are saying he is a loss before the game, we are not saying the same thing afterwards.”
“He’s done his job fantastically well. He’s a really good professional and a good guy in and around the place.
“We are delighted with the rewards he is getting on the pitch and if the fans can recognise what he is doing apart from the odd numpty or two, then that is obviously helpful to him.”Last edited by Assassin; 03-11-11, 07:13 PM.

When something is too plain for other definitive words. They or it
are neither one thing or another. Drab. Boring. Doesn't stick in your mind.
"he didn't do anything for me for my birthday...it was liike, totally john Doe".
"this soup is really john doe, you should add some salt and pepper at least.".
" I know you want me to buy a ford taurus, Mom, but they're just so john doe, ya know? Are we winning?
