They'll have all the stats, the fitness monitoring gubbins and will obviously know best, but he's so important to us, and so comfortably our best player that even if he's merely 90% I'd play him. He can't be lacking much sharpness if any. He had a massive break over Christmas too. I'll be extremely disappointed if he doesn't play.

Brazil have a game in Stuttgart against Germany but I think Uruguay don't have a game, so I'd be tempted to start Lucas on the bench but start Luis after a full week of training.

I'd take a half fit Lucas over a fully fit Spearing

Ofcourse but Kenny trusts Spearing and rates him highly. I just think Spearing will start and Lucas will be given another week to build up some sharpness

Would you play Suarez against Sunderland?
I would, we can't afford a slow start by not choosing our best players.
With no European football they can recover and be managed mid week.

Both Lucas and Suarez have been playing in the summer so will be fit, they might need a game or 2 to get full sharpness.

Regarding Suarez, Id love for him to play but I don't think he will. He's just played a full tournament and probably isn't even finished celebrating yet. Is he even back from holiday yet? He'll need atleast 2 weeks training with the first team after returning from holiday. The only way he'll play is if he persuades Kenny that he's ready.

I think the only change from yesterday will be Kuyt in for Henderson.

There is no reason to feel the need to play Lucas against sunderland. Spearing is more than capable. Luis I would play, he makes us tick. Lucas should play against arsenal. It's good having a strong squad.
