I really don't know why you think it's practically treasonous to think that Spurs are better than us at the moment. Are Man City not better than Spurs then? Is there any ****in point to the league table at all or should we just have fan purity tests and the fan police with the biggest cull of weak fans gets a trophy?Originally posted by Chris View PostHe's been excellent, nowhere near the level of the incredible Sandro or Paulinho but a decent player all the same.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

Of course Spurs are a threat, they've been a threat for the last 4 years or so and they will be for the foreseeable, them and Arsenal are our direct rivals this coming season again.
Say what we like about Arsenal too, but they are where we need to be, a new stadium built, Champions league every season, and ready to go into ffp with a good balance sheet to work off.
Pretty much what we are striving for at the moment, Spurs too. So they are very much threats to the future of this club, if success brings money and money and success bring top players, then we need some soon, and to do so we need to overtake those that have finished ahead of us consistently of late.
This at a time when Arsenal are prepared to spend bigger than they ever have before, and Spurs are about to get a massive injection of funds, having already imo added two very exciting players, that will likley go into their first team, and with more to come too most likely.
Yes they'll lose Bale to get that wad of cash, but i think we'll again be in a simialr position with Suarez, except we probably wont get anywhere near what Spurs get for Bale, which is downright crazy!
Anyaway, Spurs and Arsenal are our targets, finish ahead of those two sides, and we'll be ok.
It will not be easy though. imo.
edit: Ok. thought this was the Spurs thread!

I said arguably as important, with the debate being we seemed to struggle a lot more when Lucas wasn't playing last year than when Suarez wasn't. Obviously is isn't as straightforward as that as there were countless other factors to consider, but it can definitely be argued on last years evidence.Originally posted by BigChief View PostOur midfield was wide open at times last season. Lucas might be more important than Suarez for a top 4 berth. :controversial:
TBF it's less about Lucas and Suarez and more their replacements, but either way Lucas is still one of the most important players in our squad. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
