    Give over.

If he hoofs it from the middle of the park, it will end up in row zzz of the kop end. He'll be great at breaking up play and can just short pass it to Adam, h'e still got an engine on him

I'm absolutely gutted about this, feel like it's my fault. If only I could continue my monthly Lucas meltdowns, which seemed to have only made him grow stronger by some sort of subconscious, jedi-esque force. I then foolishly begin reconsidering my opinion, the "force" quickly dissipates and there he goes and blows his knee.

Liverpool have recalled Jonjo Shelvey from his loan spell at Blackpool, after Lucas Leiva suffered a knee injury in Tuesday night's Carling Cup tie at Chelsea.

The club are still awaiting news from his scan, but fear he could be out for up to six months.

“Obviously this is a setback to us as Jonjo has done ever so well in his short time with us," said Blackpool boss Ian Holloway.

“We knew that Liverpool had the recall option on him and it was only the unfortunate injury to Lucas that has prompted them to take this course of action.

“I would like to thank Jonjo for his efforts with us and Kenny for allowing him to come to us. We will be in regular contact with Liverpool about trying to bring him back in January should Liverpool's injuries clear up.”

Shelvey has been in fine form for the Seasiders, scoring six goals in 10 appearances.

Neither is Jonjo, although he's the better option.

Nothing like the same sort of player though. He's been playing a very attacking midfield role for Blackpool.

Big time for Spearing. Almost make or break isn't it?

problem with Jonjo and Hendo, is that all thou they can run around alot, have great engines on them, neither can tackle well or break up play

Yep. If one of them could do that to an adequate level, he'd be the clear choice for the role.

Well JohnDoe - you said that we'd never be successful with a player like Lucas in our team, I guess we are about to find out if you were right.

Have to say I am shocked to get home from work and hear the news about Lucas. I didn't think it looked that bad (although he was stretchered off). He's been a key player for so long its hard to imagine us without him. I can only hope he recovers and it doesn't become a problem for him in the future.
