I still think he can do a job but I suspect we need to upgrade in that position.
spot on. He was never the quickest but he really has lost a yard & is definitely getting physically dominated. Be interesting to see what Rodgers does in January.

One things for sure, that midfield trio is not working. And someone else this season with a bit more of a defensive skill set would have definitely helped Lucas.... as Stevie & Hendo are useless defensively.

      Sadly I agree.

I think it's been apparent for quite some time that Lucas is a shadow of his former self but we allow ourselves to get excited when he puts in one good performance in 4. Sad to say but I think it's clear we need an alternative.

Has he been consistently poor this season? He's mostly been OK. Consistency in his game will come with time and more games. It's far too early to dismiss him. We do need more options though, that is clear.
            Are we winning?

He has been good most of the season IMO.

I know your a fan but he really hasn't been good this season or last... i'd imagine most would agree. Few good games here and there but really has struggled to find previous form. Understandable after such bad injuries... time will tell whether he can return to his best but we need better than what we have at the moment.

That is your opinion, you're welcome to it.

Disagree with that assertion dan... yes he has had a few poor games but imo.. so did most of the team where everyone played badly..imo we should be be strengthening those areas where the weak link seems to have a cascading effect to the other positions. ..in lucas case the dm spot..we should address that by getting proper coverage in those areas if we keep on playing 352..in this case the full back positions imo..

i think lucas is probably good enough but only when the rest of the team are all putting in some effort. he cannot hold the line on his own, and in the modern game it really needs all the team to be putting a full shift in.

as i have said before, too many people getting away with some token bits of effort in each game, but they drift off and go missing for much of the match.

the manager needs to get stuck into them and i dont think the gloves can come off until gerald gets subbed or dropped so instead of the players looking to him for their lead they instead follow the manager.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
