I agree but perhaps Lucas, knowing he's hardly going to get a look, wants a fresh start? No doubt it will be a wrench for him to leave but must be pretty galling when your manager doesn't have much faith in you.

It's all part of Rodgers evil masterplan - he won't stop until Joe Allen is our longest serving player

And of course, Joe isn't far off being next out the door if Rodgers has statistiscal concerns about availability, as we surmise with Sakho and Lucas..................but didn't Joe only get a new contract in the summer (or at least in talks for one)

          I think you're right.

He's 28 now and has missed chunks of football over the last four seasons. Surely he wants to play and there's no point of him hanging around if he's hardly ever going to make the 18-man squad.

It's a shame as I think he's worth at least a place in the matchday squad, but Rodgers obviously has his reasons.

That's it, I'm done. What the hell is the point of letting our most senior player go on loan. So flipping frustrating

Could be that as well. Shame either way as he's been a good servant to the club.

So this is confirmed by the club?

I don't rate him but I wouldn't get rid unless we had another coming in. We have a lot of games over the season and I think we look a bit short in midfield if we got rid of him. I guess that depends though on how much Rodgers rates the young lads.

If Rossiter & Chirevella etc are ready for the Europa then maybe we can let him go.
                    Forwards.......

Loan Lucas out and give Allen a new contract FFS, Brendan has no credit in the bank for me.

                            You should have said.

Clearly you don't rate the manager and that's your prerogative but tbf any move might be down to the player as much as the club

If it's Lucas' choice it's because he knows he wont get any playing time. IMO.

Probably, thing is it's going to be Rodgers balls on the block this season if things don't pan out and as it stands Lucas appears to be back up at best as the manager it's his call and tbh if we do/don't get top 4 it won't solely be about the utilisation of Lucas.
