What's the problem?
Bob, sometimes you are too rational for your own good...put a sock in it...

Seriousness though, consider Bren's love child allen being crook and all, having a similar injury record, should he not be off before lucas????

    seriously pissed with this move...

Mate please don't feel I'm just picking you up on this but you're the most recent person to make this comment.

What if we've had no offers for Allen? It's difficult to move someone on if there's no interest in the player.

Personally I would also keep Lucas over Allen, but it's not an either / or situation and perhaps Allen is happy to accept a squad role and Lucas isn't.

It's a shame if Lucas goes but if Rodgers doesn't see him as part of his plans then that's it I guess.

Nail on the head I'd say. It's hard to imagine someone putting a bid in for Allen innit! They'd want to see him play surely

well mate, good couple of points... first rebuttal: have you considered the stance from the club: "LFC are open to offers in regard to Lucas..."

As opposed to "LFC are open to offers in regard to Allen?"

I know which one has been touted officially/unofficially more often than the other (hardly any in regard to the later-er - ie. Allen), in light of last season to the present (heck even running for a few years now me thinks).

second rebuttal: Allen happy to be a squad player as opposed to Lucas? I don't believe that, Lucas has been here far long enough and would have made noise about this long before, no i don't think this is the factor (consider the fact that he hasn't even made the bench or even given a sniff or minutes this season)...

Allen was offered a new long term contract just last season I think, can't see him being sold in the near future. IMO, there is place for both of them if Brendan uses rotation, but the way we are starting i have a major concern that he doesn't know how to manage a big squad and rotate it.

It seems pretty simple IMO. Allen is able (in Brendan's eyes) to play any of the 3 midfield positions in our formation therefore he's worth keeping, whereas Lucas can only play the holding role and is limited (in Brendan's eyes) in how he plays it.

I disagree and will be sorry to see Lucas go, but it's up to Rodgers to do things his way and I don't see it as any more than a footballing decision that he's paid to make.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

God that's as hard to read as an Elvoz post, but I couldn't be arsed changing it.

Surely it's the club's decision to loan Lucas out and the manager has no say in the matter?
                  Oh I don't know.

2 games in and already it's obvious that rodgers can't manage a bigger squad and rotation? Is that some sort of record?

I'm fairly sure I said I was concerned about it. That's a bit kneejerk from you.

to be fair, you said you have a major concern...bit premature to have concerns, be they major or minor, after only 2 games tho, no?

I think Rodgers has rather shown a tendency to make few changes unless forced.

And its not the same as saying its obvious, though its obvious to me

If the players on the periphery aren't shining in training they make Brendan's job easier with regards to the need to rotate.

I like Lucas, but he doesn't have the legs to be in our team. He was given the run around against Arsenal and Stoke and others last season. There is no room for a player who sits in front of the back four. Rafa had it but it's quite clear we don't play that way now.

I'm not sure it is as clear cut as that - my feeling is that it depends a lot on who else is in the team. I think Lucas could be ace holding beside a slightly more advanced Milner (we seem to have different formations in many ways when pressing and going forwards). Problem is we need greater recovery pace to compensate for Lovrens tendency to leave gaps between himself and Skrtel (to a degree an issue with Sakho too, I still think in part it is a Sktrel based issue of communication + being too deep).
