spot on... when certain 'fans' take off their lucas 'fall guy' tinted glasses off and realise this, they wouldn't have been so negative on him, this guy has been the epitomy of hard work, less moan and an utter professional off and on the field; a fighter in the true sense and hence he has been loyal to a fault... hopefully he will go on, if he does, to a club that will appreciate him... Strange one really, he's clearly well worth having in the squad as proven last season when you need to add a bit of solidity in midfield esp against the bigger sides however I don't think he really fits into the way Rodgers wants to play I.e. Forgoing attacking qualities for defensive ones and I'm not sure and quite rightly is happy with a bit part position at the club.

I think letting him go could well be a mistake but if he wants to go for more minutes on the pitch elsewhere it's something we should probably happen as long as 1) we've got a suitable replacement lined up and 2) we've a plan of how we want to "shut up shop" when it's needed.

Lucas is set to leave Liverpool and join Besiktas in a season-long loan move.

Mirror Sport revealed in May that Brendan Rodgers wanted to offload Lucas this summer and Besiktas have confirmed they are in talks about signing the Brazilian midfielder.

Besiktas want to sign Lucas for this campaign initially and claim the deal could be thrashed out in the next 48 hours. D

This makes no sense. Rodgers is making some ridiculous decisions regarding players that we fans do not understand. Lucas may not be first choice at the moment but if he wants to stay he will bring something that other players don't

Possible loan fee, savings on his high wages and lets the guy play. It is madness though.

Just don't see the benefit, he might not be a first choice midfielder for us but I think over the course of a season he'd prove useful at the very least as part of the squad
