re sterling - i remember early on watching him in his first few games
everyone, myself included - expecting him to be some a bit of shaun wright phillips - out and out winger with pace...get the ball wide and just run
i was surpised at how much he had his head up and just had a touch then pass
some ******s who know **** all said things like - he's **** sterling - because they were expecting him to run at people.
i disagreed i was made him that at such an early stage in his career he was showing the awareness to get his head up and look around, play a pass.
now, with each game he gains more experience, his off field issues seem to have gone, he is getting a bit bigger/stronger he's adding more and more to the game.
quality looking lad and for his age he is so much further ahead.
i said it at the time at what 17 - if he gets 10-15 games, then another 10-15 games - by time he is 18/19 (this season) he'd be 30 games ahead of other 19 year olds.....which is why he looks so much better than januzaj
we've so far managed him brilliantly. if we keep it up, he will have the odd dips as well, but if we keep him managing like this imagine how good he will be when he hits andros townsends age
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Yup.Originally posted by Tee View PostSaj.

Originally posted by sajHmmmm jury is still out on Sterling for me. I have always had reservations on him even when he was slugging it out for the reserves. He seems to thrive when defenders are on the backfoot and tired. His game seems to improve after 75 mins but his contribution up until that point is very very poor. Maybe he needs a rest or maybe he has been found out already? Or maybe he just isn't ready yet for the first team. Problem is, we just don't have many options - Assaidi is either extremely **** or has slept with someones mum at the club.
Last week he may have got one assist but he gave the ball away over 20 times. You can highlight that assist and give a big thumbs up but he will not got assists every week. But it's his contribution and any other players (except maybe strikers) that needs to be analysed over 90 mins. Today it was much the same really. His control was lacking and every time he dribbled and pushed the ball forwards, he always knocked it too far forward and the defenders tackled him. This is so frustrating to watch and he does it every game.
There are figures of £15m flying around at the moment and if that figure is true and clubs are willing to pay that, I know what I would if I was charge....Originally posted by sajYes, that's the other thing. His off the field antics will probably end up hindering his career. The early indication to me is that he will become more like Pennant than Aaron LennonOriginally posted by sajI doubt anyone in this world will agree with me when I say this but I think Toni Silva is a better player than him

I think he is a very good prospect as well but he is not playing in his best position and is not managed properly as well.Originally posted by PTP View Posti'd stick my neck out here and disagree with Januzaj - i've seen him look very good, and he looks a great prospect.
Would i swap him for sterling - no chance. Sterling has been so much better over a longer period of time that it's laughable anyone opts for Januzaj over him...but i wouldn't discredit him either just because he plays for united. Like sterling, if he continues to improve and fulfills his potential, he'll be some player
Imo he'd flourish under BR management just like Sterling is atm.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club
