That's really harsh.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI don't think he's that amazing to be honest. His decision making is poor, he doesn't shoot that well and technique is poor when it comes to accepting a pass. He's ****ing fast and has built up his strength and this was great when Suarez and Sturridge made so much room for him to exploit both but at the moment he's just a speed merchant.
Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend are the epitome of a speed merchant. There's so much more to Sterling's game than that.
He's just turned 20, he'll have more exaggerated dips in form at this age.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

To be honest it sounds like the failure of the signings are as much of an issue as the cash.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHappy to spunk millions on ****ing rubbish every summer and we're penny pinching over a potential superstar already on our books. Typical.

We are not going from strength to strength, so he's bound to be having doubts about his future here, it's even possible he could join another club in Jan and have a winners medal on his mantle piece by May.
Ok January is probably too soon, but that scenario must be on his mind as far as next season is concerned.
Can't blame him either if i'm totally honest.

He has been very poorly managed by Rodgers and Hodgson this season. He is the first name on our teamsheet, played the maximum minutes after Mignolet. he has been run into the ground being the only source of attack or threat this season.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHappy to spunk millions on ****ing rubbish every summer and we're penny pinching over a potential superstar already on our books. 70K is a joke offer for him. He is the most important player at the club right now. Pay him at that level.

think they must have had a restricted view ticket the lad was excellent againOriginally posted by Rich View PostTalking to a couple of blokes who were at the game last night and they said that Sterling had a terrible game. Something which didn't come across on the TV.
They said he kept hiding behind the opposition and didn't work for space when we had it in midfield.
Wasn't my view but wonder if someone at the game can back this up?

It's a strong argument, but I'm going to disagree.Originally posted by cream View PostBollocks

He's our best forward after Sturridge, and we've got an enormous queue of 1st XI players we'd upgrade ahead of him. That makes him an asset we need to keep. 70k is no great shakes these days, let alone for an important player at a big club. If we don't pay it when it's warranted all we're going to do is chuck at players who we hope will be as good as Raheem.Like blood on iron

Or he could join another club and disappear in to the wilderness like maany better players have before him.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostWe are not going from strength to strength, so he's bound to be having doubts about his future here, it's even possible he could join another club in Jan and have a winners medal on his mantle piece by May.

He may be our best player after Sturridge but that's only because we have a **** squad. What are his concerns, success or money? If it's the former then we won't be able to keep him using the latter.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostIt's a strong argument, but I'm going to disagree.

Sure, I accept that. I'm more responding to the idea he's not good enough to warrant 70k than suggesting money is all it will take to keep him. As I say, he's someone we clearly need to keep if we're to avoid a drop in the quality we can put on the pitch.Originally posted by cream View PostHe may be our best player after Sturridge but that's only because we have a **** squad.
