He's a top prospect, but to suggest he's already a great player is fanciful at best. Doesn't get nearly enough goals or assists despite bring the one constant in the team.

He & Coutinho are exciting to watch, but both deliver very little. This team was being made to look better than they are when they had the SAS up top last season.

A whole host of players got away with delivering very little in terms of goals & assists. Now the SAS aren't playing & other strikers aren't delivering, I think the other players are being shown for what they are.

I wouldn't sell Sterling, as I said, I think he's a top prospect. But that's all he is.

Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend are the epitome of a speed merchant. There's so much more to Sterling's game than that.

He's just turned 20, he'll have more exaggerated dips in form at this age.

Perhaps you're right, I just don't see it right now. He simply runs into space, does a few step overs and loses the ball.

He'll be sold in the summer by those fraudsters that call themselves "the transfer committee" and we'll use the money to buy some bang average overpriced flavour of the month from west brom or Southampton.

70K is a joke offer for him. He is the most important player at the club right now. Pay him at that level.
I think £70,000 per week is more than fair. He would be nearly tripling his wages and there is room for further movement as he develops as a player. Offering him £100,000+ and his hamstrings start going at 22 would be the financial **** up.

We need him to be playing better this season, not worse. Offer a young player a big pay rise and it's odds on they'll play **** for the next 6 months, not better. Unless you pay them by their goals and assists.

If you consider his age, 70K is definitely a good offer. But if you think from his perspective, he is currently the third most important player at the club after Sturridge ( who is injured) and Gerrard. He may want some sort of parity - 100K atleast. If not us, there will be a decent number of clubs willing to offer him that.

                        **** it,

I'd offer him 50p a week and tell him it's a privilege to be playing for this club, they should all be playing for free. The greedy cunts have enough money as it is.

It's irrelevant as he'll be off next year anyway so we may as well go in with a 50p offer.

Its not irrelevant if we want a decent transfer fee

contracts mean nothing. suarez signed a new 200k a week contract and he left at the end of the season.

he's now an england international and probably one of englands and our best player so why would he accept 70k per week ? Hes going for the market rate which is around 100k for someone of his level.
