There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Raheem Sterling will sign a new contract to secure his long-term future at Liverpool. The deal will see the 19-year-old England forward paid £125,000 a week.
The club intend to tear up his existing £43,000-a-week deal and replace it with a five-year contract, bringing to an end speculation linking him with a host of European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
Sterling’s advisors, Impact Sports Management, have been immersed in negotiations with Liverpool’s chief executive, Ian Ayre, and while neither side has been in a particular rush to push through an agreement, they both accept that the interest from other clubs is fuelling unwanted speculation.

£125k per week is a massive pay rise for a 19 year old! If we don't pay it another team will. I just hope he keeps his feet on the ground and continues to work hard. He has undoubtedly become one of our most important players and I suppose if other footballers deserve so much money then he does too.

Liverpool man Jamie Carragher criticises Roy Hodgson for publicising Raheem Sterling comments
After last night’s win in Estonia, England manager Roy Hodgson confirmed that 19 year old Raheem Sterling had told him he was tired ahead of the game.
The Liverpool winger was thus left out of the starting XI and brought on late on.
.
“We can debate whether Raheem Sterling should say that to the manager – for me, as a player, I’d never give the manager an opportunity to leave me out,” said the Sky Sports pundit. “I just think, whether he is tired or if he didn’t feel right before the game, keep that between yourselves.
“Listening to Roy Hodgson – let’s not forget Adam Lallana came on for Sterling and did really well against San Marino – he may have been looking to [rest him].
“Just come out after the game and say ‘I played Lallana, he came on and did well in the last game, I think Raheem needs a little bit of a rest’ and talk about it then. Rather than now, where there’s going to be a debate about Raheem Sterling and is he right at that age to be asking things like that?”
Fellow ex-Liverpool professional Jamie Redknapp also hit out at Roy Hodgson.
“I can’t understand why Roy’s gone into this,” he said. “If he had just said he’d picked the team and picked Adam Lallana, and said to the press afterwards ‘I just wanted to freshen it up, and felt Raheem Sterling would be a really good impact sub if we needed him for half an hour’, we wouldn’t even be talking about it.
“By saying that he’s given a real problem between Raheem Sterling and himself, he’s obviously caused problems with Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers.
“Sometimes to be secret is the best thing to do – honesty is not always the best policy, and Roy Hodgson has come out and said this. I don’t know why he’s got embroiled in it.”
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
