The idea we'd respond to him turning down £100k/week by offering £180k/week is crazy. Almost as crazy as him potentially turning that down, I really think he'd struggle to get regular football at the sort of clubs who could top that and a bad move now could seriously harm his development because whatever he thinks, he isn't that great yet and still has a lot to learn before he can seriously be considered an elite player.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

All sounds like an agent whose leaving his firm to go independent with his big star trying to maximise his clients contract/get a big transfer so he can attract new clients. Either Sterling will sign a new improved contract with clauses like minimum release fees or the club will sell him for a stupid amount of cash. Just can't see the likes of RM, Bayern or Chelsea forking out the 60+ mill that the club will likely demand, MCFC are the only ones with the cash and desperate to do that.

Maybe he's waiting to see if we get champions league football before he signs. If that is the case it is completely understandable.
As regards people saying it's not a big loss, he's a very talented young player & it would be a huge loss for LFC is he leaves. If it's not for money and more so for the lack of champs league football, then i can understand. I suspect it could be a bit of both, but that's just my opinion. Playing champs league football opens a team up to signing better players, also lack of it opens a team up to losing there best players.
