Interesting article from Bascombe yesterday. Says the lad has always been motivated by money. He joined our academy because we offered the most money. At every contract negotiation since he's wanted to be the highest paid player of his age. Get used to this stuff, even if he signs and stays.

That's not strictly true.
Sterling joined us because we offered QPR the best deal, just like we did with West Brom for Sinclair, Wycombe for Ibe and MK Dons for Ojo.
Obviously Sterling gets good money out of it and rightly so but Bascombe has twisted that to imply it was solely down to money for Sterling himself, not what QPR were getting out of it.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
Barrett says there are clubs willing to pay him in excess of 150k a week so that then becomes his market rate. We either pay it or convince him he's better to stay with us on less wages.
Yeah but finding a better player, convincing them to join us and then paying them less than Sterling would cost over the course of his contract is the problem. Not to mention the transfer fee. If it can be done great, but really if we start selling our best young players as well as our best older players we may as well turn it in. Makes it nigh on impossible to be successful again.
He also apparently has a pretty bad toe injury and shouldn't even be playing right now.

Any idea which clubs and what transfer fee they would be willing to pay if a new contract can't be agreed?
He didn't elaborate. I'm sure Chelsea would take him and I'm sure he'd love to go back to London some day. I don't think the likes of Madrid or Bayern would be arsed with him yet, he's not at their level.
If we can get £50m then i would sell the ****er and be gone with his ****. He is a greedy cunt off the field and on it as well - his shooting isn't good enough for the greed he shows in games.
For me, if we pay Sterling £150k per week, then Coutinho should be on the same - or even more.
I'm well in the camp that wouldn't offer him £150,000, but let's not act the cunt. He's performed well and has bags of potential. Him trying to get the most money for himself doesn't suddenly make him ****.
