Happy to say I made no mention of young Raheem in that thread. The defence was the focus of my concern then as it still is now unfortunately!

2014 really has been a cracking year for Raheem, just a shame he didn't have a trophy to show for it.
Checked, no real need for names as I'm sure most could guess which posters are culpable.

For the sake of my FPL team I hope this rotation doesn't happen too much for Raheem. Obviously starting against Ludogorets.

He needed a break. Good decision by Brendan. Team needs time to gel and changes like this will be more effective later in the season.

Points later in the season are worth the same as ones now though. Anyway, he'll come on and change this game.

**** decision by Brendan. 3 points dropped, we'll remember this game later in the season.

Assuming you agree that he needs periodic resting, is it just the Champions League games you would rest him in? Or any others?

If you don't agree he needs resting, then I'm afraid you're plain wrong.
                        Oh I don't know.

                          1. It makes more sense to rest him mid week since it gives him more time to... rest between games.

                          2. Resting him on the first game your team is missing Sturridge is just asking for trouble. He got it.

I agreed that he should have been rested today but we should have stuck with our diamond formation and player Lallana or Coutinho at the point.

Aye. I agree with this, I think there's a little bit of a problem with fitting everyone in now, but I think Lambert should have gotten the nod up top with Mario.

I just don't think you can rest him with Sturridge out as well. We could probably cope without one or the other but coming off the back of a season with Suarez, we have to have at least one of our most potent attacking talents in the team. Especially until the new guys settle in.

Mario for me needs to integrate in to our system of play as he seems to drift out wide a lot, so without an attacking presence - whether being right up there with Sturridge or spring from deep with Sterling - his contributions can be limited or even negated. But I'm sure with time and allowing the other guys to settle in, Mario will be great.
