Rodger's said this game was one they earmarked a while ago as one where he could be rested so I don't think any fitness concerns were an issue. As soon as Sturridge got injured those plans should've changed IMO.

Its not just resting Raheem but Lallana, Coutinho and Markovic need continued premiership experience (not CL) which is vital to the health of the club in the long run. It was the right decision and the result is not damaging.
      One tit for another.

        Del.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I dunno, with Skrtel, Johnson, Allen and Sturridge out injured, it may have been better to start Sterling. Too many new faces and all that.

Skrtel will be back for the West Ham game

Does anybody else think he looks a bit Jaded compared with the end of last season? or maybe we shouldn't expect him to maintain such a peak he reached.

Are we too reliant on a 19 year old to make things happen each time he gets the ball?

Does he need a rest or should we lower expectations and give the lad a break to develop further.

Not sure what you're on about to be honest, he's got two league goals and an assist already

I may be making this up but I think players like him have training programs to ensure his fitness peaks late (or later) in the season, so he may not be firing on all cylinders just yet. Not that he's been bad or anything, he's been great

Is that 3 in 5 in the league? Almost 20 goals in 80 games for us?!?!

                                He's not even 20 yet!!

                                Incredible.
