Rodger's said this game was one they earmarked a while ago as one where he could be rested so I don't think any fitness concerns were an issue. As soon as Sturridge got injured those plans should've changed IMO.

Yeah that's how I see it.Originally posted by BigChief View PostIts not just resting Raheem but Lallana, Coutinho and Markovic need continued premiership experience (not CL) which is vital to the health of the club in the long run. It was the right decision and the result is not damaging.Oh I don't know.

I dunno, with Skrtel, Johnson, Allen and Sturridge out injured, it may have been better to start Sterling. Too many new faces and all that.Originally posted by BigChief View PostIts not just resting Raheem but Lallana, Coutinho and Markovic need continued premiership experience (not CL) which is vital to the health of the club in the long run. Does anybody else think he looks a bit Jaded compared with the end of last season? or maybe we shouldn't expect him to maintain such a peak he reached.
Are we too reliant on a 19 year old to make things happen each time he gets the ball?
Does he need a rest or should we lower expectations and give the lad a break to develop further. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

Not sure what you're on about to be honest, he's got two league goals and an assist alreadyOriginally posted by kev776 View PostDoes anybody else think he looks a bit Jaded compared with the end of last season? or maybe we shouldn't expect him to maintain such a peak he reached.

but I think players like him have training programs to ensure his fitness peaks late (or later) in the season, so he may not be firing on all cylinders just yet. Not that he's been bad or anything, he's been great
