I don't think the club have particularly engineered the situation, but I can't help but think it suits them to go along with it. Sterling has been demonised as a money grabber, the fans are onside with the sale, the cash comes in and is used to "strengthen the squad" and the recruitment is done without massively lashing out.

Well, the club hardly forced him to do that interview.Originally posted by G View PostMad how different groups see different things. Everyone here behind the club, Sterling a cunt etc. On another forum the overall view is the club has engineered this whole thing from the off, their media Dept is the best in the business and it's doing its work cos Sterling is this summers massive profit and the owners are making sure they get him out for top dollar.
Many different perceptions of the club out there.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

The only worry about all this is that some of the suitors we expect to interested may have a reality check when it comes to valuation.
Though no doubt the bodies concerned have already discussed money.
BTW.....While the agent is obviously a cocksucker, let's not forget the ****ing jumped up little cunt's responsibility in all this."I will make the boys feel your support"

Judging by last three summers transfer windows, I have zero confidence of this happening.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostI don't think he's irreplaceable like Suarez, if we get a good fee (and who's to say LFC haven't been pushing that way anyway, lets not be naive) we could buy a striker and sort out the defence.
FSG get a big fee, look like they're spending again on the necessities whereas in reality all they're doing is maintaining a low outlay by selling assets big to address other weaknesses in the squad, they're not stupid.

Yeah well that's pretty much the view. Keep selling those worth the most so you don't have to put your hand in your pocket. It's just that selling those worth the most usually means your losing the best ones you have.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostI don't think the club have particularly engineered the situation, but I can't help but think it suits them to go along with it. We apparently have the best media head in the business and a view expressed was there's no way the club didn't know that was happening. It suited them to let it.Originally posted by Plod View PostWell, the club hardly forced him to do that interview.
I have no idea but it's interesting to read different stand points.

He runs like a bird anyway. Sell him to city or get a couple of players off them. He won't be missed IMO. He looked better last season due to defenders concentrating on Suarez & Sturridge which allowed him more time and space. He's been ****ing crap this season when defenders have hot onto him.
One thing that is worrying though is this is another player the club has turned on in the media. FSG better get their wallet out in the summer. I'm starting to worry about the direction they are taking the club on the football side of things.Last edited by Leyton388; 18-05-15, 11:09 PM.
