The lad really hasn't helped himself at all with the choice of words used (if accurate). Talking of being bullied into signing a deal, the club offering no protection etc. Why should they protect him when he's gone into business for himself with a BBC interview about club dealings? I like the lad, good player, clearly off the boil right now and Suarez made him look a million bucks. To be fair the impact Suarez had that we have lost hurts me more than this clown. He's not the finished article, but won't be sat on Citeh's bench, so he needs to pick his battles carefully now.

I always remember a quote about getting players who want to run through brick walls to wear that shirt, clearly Sterling doesn't even want to get out of bed to play for LFC and if that's the case then lets cash in.

The club have seemingly fallen apart in 12 months, its fairly scary. I've said before that I don't advocate the big reset button, but I think Rodgers has lost the dressing room, several signings are a disaster - especially Lovren who I'm sure saw getting megged by his own child at the weekend and maybe it is time for a change in management and structure.

Raheem you camp dinosaur running child, thanks, but if you're so adamant that this is the way, then see ya pal

I wish someone would bully me into signing a £100k a week contract. The lads talking out of his arse and the sooner he is gone the better. Sell him and sign konoplyanka on a free and go all out for a top quality striker.

Ben Smith BBC - It's even been suggested to me that Sterling would sign if another manager would be in place.

"The relationship between representatives of Raheem Sterling, particularly Aidy Ward, and Ian Ayre is a fine one; I'm told that it's more strained with Brendan Rodgers and that's not helping anything." - Ben Smith (from TAW Player interview with Neil)

Modern footballers are ******s. They are so out of touch with reality. Any kid who thinks that they're too good to play for Liverpool Football Club is completely deluded. We support players and make them feel special and then they somehow think that they are better than the club. I don't wish anything negative towards anyone, but I hope that Sterling realises one day what he had here.

QPR have a 20% sell on clause as well. Don't think we're going to get as much as we might hope for.

He's probably never got over the "steady" comment and bears a childlike grudge from being put firmly in his place 3 years ago.

McNulty gets it spot on for once.

Basically, we've done nothing wrong and most people aren't really bothered anyway.

For once, as you say. He's really hit the nail on the head there. Sterling has been poor in the last few months. I would question if we would get a bid worth considering to be honest.

If we take all this crap at face value he's been getting pelters from the fans for not re-signing, it's got to him (hence that silly interview), his forms also gone to ****, the grief has increased, it's spiralled etc...

He's just a kid, I'm not going to judge him. I hope he gets his head sorted and stays. Though no doubt the abuse will further increase and he'll be gone.

either way I am not arsed... The only thing i would like to make sure is if he does go, he goes on our terms and we get top dollar, otherwise I would prefer to see him rot on the bench

Many different perceptions of the club out there.
I just can't buy that perception as an objective view of events and the situation. The idea that the club engineered this from the start is almost ridiculous, we began talks with the lad as soon as his contract said we would and offered him a fantastic deal for a player of his age and actual stature (ie not the one in his head). The club cannot seriously be held responsible for him making ill advised and unauthorised interviews etc.

Every drop of negative press in this one has come from Sterling's camp, and anyway, if we have such a fantastic media department how come everyone is constantly up in arms every time anyone at the club opens their mouths?

Anyway, logically if we actually wanted to maximise his value we wouldn't be manipulating the situation to sell now, no way, he could be worth much more in several years if he worked hard and continued to develop. Machiavellian FSG would hardly miss that.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                        Mine angry and defrauded young?

How would that work if there was a player exchange involved?

Just as an example say we gave Madrid £30million and Sterling for Bale.

I'd be very happy with that to be honest. He's a very good pro, still only 26, has as much quickness and speed as Raheeeeeem and is a very effective goalscorer from midfield or as a striker.

And will be a fantastic partner for Sturridge on the physio table.
