Could look at it that way i suppose, or we could say... ...that the fee we paid for Sterling from QPR; is now getting us Benteke, who is still himself young and will have a sell on value if it doesn't work out at lfc.Originally posted by red g View Postso once qpr take there cut it will be almost a straight swap value wise for Benteke. Ouch.
and with the most we've ever paid Sterling being 35k pw.
Football is a bit like musical chairs with players moving clubs all the time these days, so i don't think we did so bad in this round, we got Sterling for starters, before other clubs did, so it was win win from then on imo.
Once he's gone he'll be nothing to LFC, a distant memory, not important and not worthy of our time, but i think all told we did ok out of signing him when he was so young.

It would seem to me that he's determined to go and he's being allowed to leave on the club's terms.Originally posted by Tee View PostNot an ideal end to his stay with us is it? Think questions inevitably have to be asked as to how and why the most valuable young talent in Europe (not IMO) has been allowed to leave like this.
Given his attitude and wish, I think it's fair enough.
If you want to ask why he wants to leave, then that is a different story entirely.
But no, not ideal at all. And you can say that about all the good players that have decided to leave in the past 10 or less years.Last edited by dom9; 10-07-15, 10:43 PM.Oh I don't know.
