Thanjk you.

If City weren't a despotic filthy rich plaything we'd take the deal with a smile on our faces. As it happens City are filthy rich and trying to undercut us.
In no circumstance do we take that deal. If they call our bluff then Sterling stays, nothing to lose from our end. Everything to lose from City's.
There's £45m to lose. Sterling seems to have a different attitude to Suarez, if we force him to stay he'll just be ****e for us.

Take the £45M and lets move on.
If he does that he has alot to lose himself, there are the Euros next summer, if he doesn't play or doesn't do well he won't be going to that. Also if he doesn't have a good season, would the likes of Man City still be interested in a year? Not to mention the ~£100k a week pay rise he would miss out on, but that's ok because it's not about the money for him.
IMO he too has alot too lose
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't think he'll think like that, he's more likely to sulk, piss about again and try and force through a move in January.
I'd rather spend the £45m on a decent replacement now, someone who actually wants to play for us.

He has an agent to do his thinking for him

I have always thought that we should hold out for £50m but have now come round to the view that we should sell for the £45m that has (supposedly) been offered.
He is being quite disruptive which is something we don't need and I'm not sure he is a £45m player let alone worth £50m. He may develop into that but I'm not sure he ever will

Raheem Sterling named in the Liverpool squad for their pre-season tour. Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique have been left out.
I like it. Carry on as though no bid has come through yet. I'm glad we're holding out for 50m AND inconveniencing Sterling by making him fly half way round the world when he doesn't want to. Win win.
The only dark cloud obviously being the inevitable waste on Andy Carroll Mk II.
