At the end of your career you'll be measured on what you won and not how much you'be earned. Don't get me wrong getting £150k a week would be out of this world but as a professional sportsman I'd like to look back on my career knowing I played a significant part in the honours I have won.

But then Sterling might not win trophies here....and wouldnt pla a signigicant part in a City or CHelsea team?

So is it better to have medals for not contributing significantly at City or significantly contributing to winning **** all medals at Liverpool?

He's only 20 and is still developing. He'll have plenty of chances to win stuff later on. He should stay here, develop and if he wins nothing here then at least he'd have developed into a player that could potentially hold down a starting 11 place at city or Chelsea.

If he goes to one of those clubs now he will be stuck on the bench and will turn into another SWP.

I agree he should stay, grass isn't always greener.

But I guess Sterling would counter the above by asking who he was going to learn off and who would be around him to allow him to develop his game?

Recently he was played at right wing back to accommodate Lallana. In fairness it made sense as if Raheem applied himself to the role he'd do well there and at the time we didn't have too many options. But does he really want to be at a club where he will be moved out of his better positions so that an inferior performing player could get in the side?

I bet last season he was loving it. Playing full time in a role ideally suited with players like Suarez, Sturridge & Gerrard. Being able to learn off top players. He probably came on leaps and bounds in training and it showed on the pitch. He got in the starting XI for the World Cup on the back of it.

Now I don't think Raheem is good enough to move yet. But if a club pays a massive fee in the region of £40m, however big that club, it won't be to start him on the bench. His issue is if he doesn't rise to the occasion there will be massive pressure. But he's had plenty of stick here when he's not performed.

If I was advising him, I'd say stick another year. But in honesty, he's a speed demon. One bad injury and he's screwed. If Sturridge was leaving last summer there'd have been a massive queue of takers, now? Not one for a decent wedge.

Look at Owen. His best years were as a kid of Raheem's age. Maybe he's right to want the quick success? Plus maybe he'd be wise to go and earn the big bucks before people realise he isn't all that.....

Very good point, but the media in general having been giving FSG, Ayre and BR a free ride on the same.
I make no apologies, this is me

Yep, agreed. The idea that he wouldn't get excited by It'd beating us to a CL place is quite funny. We're allowed to be really passionate but any other fan is a cunt for acting the same way. He doesn't have to be impartial when it comes to Utd, that'd appear false

                        No they didn't say that.

They said......."Sterling Will Weg Aus Liverpool"
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Pogba moved to Juventus (not for a fee) and excelled. Perhaps Sterling will too?

Angling for a move is one thing, asking for world class wages is another.

It would have been better if he'd said that this season has been a massive let down and he doesn't have faith in the club's ability to further him as a player or regularly challenge for trophies. It might have been wrong but it would have been honest.
