I'm glad we chose the appearances option. A few million is a lot of money but wouldn't it be amusing if he just sits on the bench. Yes he's getting paid handsomely but it was never about the money right?

who on here would not, if offered, accept a new job with a x6 salary increase doing the same role but with a different company just 30 miles away.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostIsn't it about 200k a week, insane really. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.

I reckon I'd be grumpy for a day or so if my current employer was going to try and stop me.Originally posted by kev776 View Postwho on here would not, if offered, accept a new job with a x6 salary increase doing the same role but with a different company just 30 miles away.* The above is posted in my opinion. That's just because you are on **** wages, and 6 x **** doesn't really improve your situation.Originally posted by dom9 View PostNot me.
I walk to work, and I'd like to keep it that way.
For the rest of us...
I don't really blame Sterling for wanting to leave us, City are likely a better candidate for the PL title these days and pay stupidely ott wages - so of course he's going to push for a transfer. It's not like we're his childhood dream club to play for or anything like that.
What I'm really annoyed at is the way he (and his agent) have gone about it. Just hand in the request or work it behind the media, plenty of players have managed to leave like that...Last edited by Darkon; 13-07-15, 02:35 PM.

True, but it's likely that the level of his involvement in any success that they have would have been defined in terms of the add-ons. So injury or or not being a regular could equally effect the chances of getting the £5m with either option.Originally posted by RedReet View PostI wasn't being totally serious mate. Obviously we don't want any incentives that involve our rivals doing well, so the appearances makes more sense, but I won't be that surprised if we never see that extra £5m.
There are no guarantees he'll nail down a first team place, not to mention he's always one bad injury away from losing his best asset..

Obviously there is Firminho as you mentioned and potentially any other future recruits.
On last season's form, I don't feel we are losing that much...
With Ibe we are absolutely not weakened. Origi is also a pacy attacker that can play CF or on the sides. If they miss as many open goal chances as Sterling did last season (5+ was it?) then we'll have stood still.
If we can add 15 league goals from an atttacker (any attacker - Benteke, Lacazette, Origi, Ings) then we have considerably strenghtened. Considerably. One tit for another.

Anyone followed Navas? I was interested to see how Sterling came off in the comparison between the other similar attacking players at City and he came off worst or close to worst in most categories at Sqwawka, aside goals where Navas came off worst but Navas created far more chances p/90 mins.
Will he play upfront alongside Aguero maybe?
