City have paid a huge premium but he's got so much potential.

Shame how this has has all happened as he's a genuine talent but the way he's behaved and how it's played out it was for the best he moved on.

Fantastic deal in terms of money just have to hope we haven't/don't waste it

£49m and he's not a match winner, its a great fee for us.

How many 20 year old footballers are match winners though? Manchester City have paid a premium for what he could be worth in four, five years time.

It's a lot though, nobody else could or would spend that much on such a gamble. A bad injury and he'll probably have no chance of realising that level of potential. Even without it seems pretty unlikely.

Good luck to him, it will be interesting what will happen now. He'll be remembered as someone who had big potential, but unfortunately disrespected this club.

Good sale for us, ridiculous price for a talent that can yet go either way. Just shows how desperate city are for English players.

He will be a decent buy for them in a few years, and hopefully we can use the money to strengthen this year!

Good riddance to bad rubbish. I had a lot of time for this lad until he disrespected our club. Hope he enjoys swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck and he can spend the next few weeks perfecting the sitting position in them comfy seats at the Empti-had.

Laters Raheem, you will not be missed

                          I'm disappointed he's gone.

He burned his bridges and we couldn't have kept him here after his arsery.

The fee is ridiculous. Even our share of it is a good fee for what he's displayed so far.

But I don't have confidence we'll spend it well. And I'd much rather keep potential than sell it.

He's definitely got some qualities that our side generally lacks. He's quick and he's direct. Just hope Ibe, or the new pre-season hope Origi, can fill the gap.

So you think we should withdraw our £40m offer for Carlton Cole?

I agree, it's certainly a gamble and like you say, probably one only Manchester City (and a handful of others) could absorb. Football transfer fees are crazy.

Seeing as Aidy Ward has only one bankable client, won't Raheem have to agitate for another move before next summer?
