"I was a bit disappointed how I left," Sterling said ahead of Man City's friendly with Melbourne City.
"That was the main problem I've had with the situation - how I've left it with Liverpool.
"I'm good with everyone at the football club, the manager, the players and I wish them well for the new season.
"But it was really disappointing how it did finish off."
However, Sterling says he was determined to join City as soon as he knew they were targeting him.
The 20-year-old linked up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour in Australia and is adamant he's made the right move.
"From the first moment I heard City were interested in me [I wanted to join], purely because of the direction the football club is going in," he said.
"I've met all my team-mates now and it's been a really good few days, they've made me feel welcome and I'm really happy to be here. I think I made the right decision."
Sterling is also confident he will be able to cope with the pressure his large price tag will bring - and has his heart set on winning trophies in his first season with City.
"As a footballer playing in the Premier League for such big clubs you're always going to have pressure but you just have to deal with that and take it in your stride," he said.
"I've got my own personal goals - assist ambitions - and hopefully doing really well for this football club and trying to get trophies.""I will make the boys feel your support"

Not going to comment on whether selling him was a good idea or not, but a 20-year-old Owen seemed to fair just fine.Originally posted by Daffy Duck View PostI think it was a mistake selling him.
IMO it's quite incredible how everyone considers him to be **** suddenly, he's proven time and again that he's an exceptional talent, but he was never going to have a good 2014/15 when you consider that the club relied solely on him (a twenty year-old) to score goals, carry our entire attack and win us games for most of the season. It's almost impossible to play well when you're the only player the opposition has to worry about - and even so he was still our best forward. And he's 20. A season before, when he had Suarez and Sturridge ahead of him, he was amazing and I think that's what he'll be like again once he gets some more space and quality around him at city at City.
Instead of complementing our best players with more quality, we keep selling them and getting mediocre replacements. It's not a strategy that's likely to get us anywhere in the long run. But anyway he's a cunt with a **** attitude and I hope he fails badly etc...

Sterling with no worries is a great little player, unfortunately he got distracted last season and his form dropped off a cliff. There's a very good chance he will be a fantastic player, but regardless we got a bloody good fee for someone who wanted out and had promise. I hope in years to come people don't think it as one that got away. The player wanted out and nothing was going to change that.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. The thing is Dan, our confidence took one hell of a beating those last few months, culminating in that disaster at Stoke. I think at this stage its more about regaining some of that and wins regardless of opponents is vitally important. Obviously we have gone for the money. But I think short term, getting wins and easing the new boys in is better than playing a difficult team where we possibly get spanked.Originally posted by danperkins View PostRoma are a good side.
