this is for 2 reasons IMO:
1)to stop jamaica getting their hands on him
2)same as walcott when went to major championship to get experience
i dont want him getting injured, getting above himself or burning himself out. once again the hodge is pissing about with lfc.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.Comment

I doubt the Jamaica thing. He would have known he was going to get a cap in the near future anyway. That much was fairly obvious. The FA could have easily made that known to him to reassure him.
I think he's been picked because Hodgson knows him well.

As mentioned Rodgers had asked for him not to be considered for the U21s as he considered it too much too soon. So Hodge picks him for the full side.
He's never even played for the U21s and played something like 8 first team games. Crazy decision.

So Raheem the 17 year old gets a call up, but Jon Jo, the 20 year old with 3 years first team experience is still not picked? Seems odd.

Walcott was 17 years old (and 75 days) when he made his England debut. Sterling will be about 6 months older than that.
I think it worked against Walcott though, the hype was too much for him, and he's never quite delivered.Comment
