As mentioned Rodgers had asked for him not to be considered for the U21s as he considered it too much too soon. So Hodge picks him for the full side.

He's never even played for the U21s and played something like 8 first team games. Crazy decision.

Me too. I think a lot of us do here too. Just a shame no other teams pay attention too him to see his performances. He has his weaknesses too. But he is better than Cleverly at the moment.

If I am not mistaken he only has 1 and half left on his existing contract and with this all exposure we may want to start negotiations earlier rather than later.

I don't think Sterling should be called up to the England squad yet, he hasn't earned it. It should be something to aspire towards. Is it not enough that he's getting regular first team action? There's a danger that he will start believing that he is better than he really is at this stage of his development. I think he's got a lot going for him, but one step at a time.

That will be peanuts compared to amount of funds we would need to spend to sign someone with his potential especially if he continues to develop as expected over the next 18 months.

This kid is probably the best we produced in years and we have to find the way to keep him here after his existing contract expires.
