I absolutely love that about him.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWhat's particularly impressive apart from the obvious skill on the ball and workrate is the way he never shield away from being physical. He's happy to go shoulder to shoulder with anyone and gives as good as he gets which is a big surprise for his age and his build.
As is often the case he may find next season more difficult when everyone knows what he's about.
Not only he is not afraid of physical contact but he initiates it lot of times.
Very surprised by his decision making skills, which are very good for someone who is only 17 and it is great to see that he is not selfish.
2 things I hope he works on is crossing and his shooting which lacks power but that should come with age.
All in all it is crazy to say it but I cannot imagine our starting lineup going forward without him.
He is a winger we had been waiting for years.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Just makes me wonder why John Barnes was talking about him adding more end product to his game right after our match against Sunderland though. Surely an assist is end product? 17 years old and already talking about it.

Did anyone see Gary Neville doing a section on MNF last night, after the match? Someone tweeted in and asked why Sterling and Lallana were in ahead of Lennon and, er, someone else. He ignored Lallana and the two overlooked players and just talked about Sterling, showing loads of his "best bits" and highlighting his qualities. Completely convinced he's the real deal, he is.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

From the little I have seen of him, he does look the real deal. He's 17. Looking at the Barca game a few years ago when they had Messi, Ronaldinho proved the big threat with Messi largely influential at that stage/level in his career. If he's good enough at 17, he'll be great in a couple of seasons. Not saying he will be as good as Messi (they are different types of players of course), but if he will still retain the pace he has at present and avoid injury (specifically hamstring issues), he will be superb.Substance > Style
