If you're a top player then I'm sorry, the World Cup is the pinnacle of your career. You as a fan may not agree but then I'm assuming you won't be watching a minute of the World Cup as it's such an irrelevance?

'BR helped turn me into marathon man'
25th Mar 2014 - Latest News
Jordan Henderson has highlighted the influence of Brendan Rodgers in assisting his development into one of Liverpool's marathon men this season.
The midfielder's energy in covering the pitch, both to close down and and support attacking forays, has been a hallmark of the Reds' campaign so far.
Indeed, supporters recently created a Twitter account in tribute to the 23-year-old's leg work entitled 'Is Hendo Running?' which simply posts one-word statuses in the affirmative every few days.
Henderson chuckled when Liverpoolfc.com explained some of the tributes to his form that have appeared on social media, and was eager to acknowledge the role Rodgers has played in helping him reach such high performances levels.
"It just shows that people think I'm running all the time...which I probably am!," he told the club's official website.
"It's about using that in the right way. I feel as though in the past maybe I haven't used it how I should have, but the manager has helped me do that.
"I think I've improved tactically and it's really helped channel my energy into the right direction.
"I've always been pretty fit and wanting to close and chase down, but I think you've got to pick your moments and the time to do that," explained Henderson.
"It's no good just running all over the shop and being out of position, which maybe a few years ago, when I look back, I was probably doing that. That's just enthusiasm, energy and wanting to do the right things.
"The manager has really helped me to channel that and focus on certain things. It's really helped."
Henderson offered the latest in a string of iron-lung-like performances during Saturday's 6-3 win over Cardiff City.
The result was Liverpool's sixth consecutive victory in the Barclays Premier League - and equally as vital as any, according to the No.14.
"It was really important [to keep the momentum going]," he said. "We knew it'd be a difficult game because Cardiff are down at the bottom fighting for their lives, but we felt if we did the job right - like we have for most of the season - then we'd win the game. We managed to do that, so everyone was happy."
Liverpool were forced to overcome a couple of first-half scares in Wales as Cardiff twice took the lead before the visitors eventually gained control of the contest.
Henderson believes the Reds' reaction to those setbacks spoke volumes about the squad's current state of mind.
He explained: "Sometimes you're going to concede goals - it's about how you react to that. We reacted really well at Cardiff; we still kept passing the ball and moving it. I felt as though as the game went on, we kept getting better and scored some good goals. It was very pleasing - and we've got to take that into these last eight games."
Henderson was heavily involved in Liverpool's first goal of the afternoon, supplying a slide-rule pass that allowed Glen Johnson to square across goal for a Luis Suarez tap-in.
"We made them work and then when it was right to penetrate in behind, we did that and scored a good goal from it and it got us back in the game," he reflected. "It was a good goal - but there were five others that were very good as well!"
While Martin Skrtel helped himself to a brace against the Bluebirds, it was Liverpool's 'SAS' that inflicted most damage; Suarez helped himself to a hat-trick while Daniel Sturridge was also on target.
Indeed, the link-up play between the pair was at its brilliant best, with Sturridge's back-heel assist for Suarez's second catching the eye.
Henderson said: "They know where each other is. They're both scoring goals all the time and working really well together - but they also do the dirty part and press and work off the ball, which is the most important thing for the team.
"If they carry on doing that, I'm sure they'll keep scoring for many years to come."Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I might catch the odd game, but no, I probably won't watch the majority of it.Originally posted by john316 View Post

i am still not convinced, despite all the love for him...
a big strong lad, full of running, some good interplay, some good moments of skill and pressing...
i know he is only young, etc...
its very rare i get a chance to go to the match [unlike all the everton fans, lol] going to the game allows you to see more of the overall picture and you can see so much better what people are doing off the ball..
i didnt see henderson doing much effective closing when we lost possession and was a little unsure if i was missing it.
when sunderland did their double substitution and johnson and ki [kisy] came on it became more obvious. the lads around us in the main stand were commenting on how dangerous and decent ki is and we would need to be watching him closely...
henderson was watching the play, the ball was on the far side [centenary] and ki was behind him, and was allowed to move away and take a great position waiting for a pass. other times henderson was facing the play and also had ki in his sights, other times again he was ball watching. and ki could drift away.
im sure there were other times he wasnt getting close to his man or supporting his wing back. i saw him make one good tackle by the half way line in the first half [goes for a throw] and thats it.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Canny funny how in an era of restraint when goals go in against players' old teams wor Hendo takes the exact opposite route and practically assaulted Sturridge for not celebrating hard enough. The kid just loves goals
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
