    First red card in 83 games. Wow.

    He'll be a miss. His energy is absolutely vital.

      THought he got the ball in the replay. Only saw it once though so am sure he didn't as no one else seems to think so.

              He got the ball but his studs were high. Went 'over the top' of the ball. Great commitment. Took one for the team
              Another MASSIVE game

                Studs out, full force lunge. Even if he got the ball first, it's a red.

                  Which removes the Sterling threat from elsewhere. If he's injured we cope but we're better with him up there.

                    Shame about that but it was a stone wall red. Nothing malicious just lunged as the ball went away from him.

                      And even if he did, getting the ball first does not mean it is not a s.o.. A myth like:

                      + "it is not a penalty because the first contact was outside the area." Play advantage and base the decision on the final contact then;

                      + last week's "it is not a penalty because the goalie touched the ball." But he didn't knock it away from the action though did he, making his contact with the RedCafu an obvious foul; and

                      + "it is a penalty because he virtually punched the ball away". But he is Skrtel, a man who does not play to the rules normal people play to.

                      Just as like the idiots who argued

                        Yeah wasn't the best of tackles, gets worse the more you see it but he's not a dirty player.

                        Feel for him but disappointed that we're not going to have him now for pretty much the remainder of the season. He's been one of our unsung heroes this year.

                          I'm wondering how much that'll affect the team. He presses and runs around like crazy. Lucas doesnt move much and Allen, while he does pess, he isnt as solid for me.

                            Will be a big loss, as will Sturridge. But it is what it is, we just have to make the best of whatever situation we find ourselves in.

                              If Sturridge is out, we have a bigger problem. Might have to bring on both and put Coutinho on top of diamond.
                              Disagree completely. Allen may not have the strength of Henderson but he has very good energy levels and doesn't stop harassing opponents just like Henderson. We will miss Henderson's engine and if there is one play that has a similar engine to his, it's Allen not Lucas, who for me whilst still a good player, lacks mobility. It's in the final 3rd where I feel Allen is very poor as and needs to improve as he doesn't hurt the opposition the way Henderson can when he gets into good positions.

                                must be so bittersweet for him, started every prem game this season, only been brought off once and now misses 3 games and probably wont get back in the team for the last game
