Even if never kicked on from that, and that was his peak, its still good to enough to have him in the team. He's got a chronic injury that wont recover with rest, only time, so until such time as he's 100% fit he's not going to be at that level.Originally posted by marksared View PostProblem is, he hasn't kicked on mate and everyone 'can' remember the impact of that season, thats the problem.
With any luck, this impairment will bring on other areas of his game whilst he cant rely on his physicality or his pace.

He's not been at his best this season. As people say, that is probably the injury but...
...our midfield needs a makeover this summer. Currently it (a) it does not protect the defence enough, (b) it does not create enough chances, (c) Couts apart does not score enough goals, and (c) the players we have are much of a muchness. So at least some OK performers are going to have to go.

****ing ridiculous but I've a feeling we're about to enter an era where we have a really strong spine and team in general, players like Carragher, Stevie, Pepe, Hyppia et al.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostI'm not trying to be subversive with everything I say about Henderson but his status as a footballer far outweighs his achievements and displays on the pitch.
He has the potential to be excellent if he can overcome his biggest enemy, himself, in that he just doesn't seem strong mentally. The way he plays edges towards cowardice instead of the fearless captain we all yearn for.
I don't know what it is, just a hunch. Something tells me we will turn a corner soon or have already turned it. Sadly that doesn't include the likes of Jordan Henderson who isn't ****ing good enough.
The thing that's swayed me with Hendo is his shooting from corners, we will always pick him out from a corner and he will touch it once - **** it and it goes on to the net over the keeper. Same **** every week, he can't tackle for **** either and much like Can just likes a good whinge at every decision.
Football is more than that, sometimes you just have to take the decision and get on with it. I'm pissed so my post is a tad OTT but it's based on a hunch.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

He's obviously not right yet and the heel is still a problem. In an ideal world, we'd just keep him out of the first eleven until he's nearly pain-free.Originally posted by brightred View PostAt times it looks like he thinks he's Stevie, mad shots and all that.
At the end of the day he is Jordan. Jordan Henderson.
Not Steven Gerrard.
I'm sure he'll be back on it next season, but I can't see him reverting to his peak again before the end of May.

It was worded very carefully by Klopp - he said everyone who was asked to take a penalty said yes - so I take it that Henderson wasn't one of the first five who was asked. Probably as he's not as good at pens as the others... could be to do with his foot injury?Originally posted by Assassin View PostIf the rumours are correct and the captain didnt want to take a pelanty. He can ****ing trot on!!!
Not heard he just refused to take one...? Unless it's being reported somewhere I've not seen.

We've been **** since he's been captain. It's no coincidence.
Injury or no injury, I don't give a **** and neither should anyone else as we're only getting what he's capable of on the pitch.
Did you see that look he gave Toure when the captains went to shake hands. Looked scared ****less and/or thick as ****.
Maybe it's just me, but I want someone with class and intelligence leading the team. He's none of those.
I don't blame him. I blame the Rodgers era and **** decision after **** decision. Let's not forget he was going to get sold to Fulham and then two years later, he's club captain. That's quite a meteoric rise
Yes, we've been poor in attack and defence over the last 2 years, but it's been magnified by a complete lack of game intelligence in the midfield.

It could also be no coincidence that we lost one of the world's best players and Gerrard since then and Sturridge has been crocked. Not to mention Sterling who mostly contributed well for us.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostWe've been **** since he's been captain. It's no coincidence.
We've been very much in transition for an age and he's had a pretty serious injury himself which surely exonerates him to some extent.
