I think he embodied the values of the club incredibly well, he bridged the gap from us being **** to good. And the intangibles that are so ****ing important in success, he was good at those. A leader.

Great captain who brought out the best of those around him. Those videos where you can hear him on the pitch show how he led the team. Never the best player on the pitch, not the extravagant continental name fans swoon over, nor the showboating skill player but always gave his all for the team. He knew he was bound to be replaced for someone younger. Wish him the best and without him our midfield may well take a while to settle.
