Don't agree with that with Suarez, he was more of a kid with behavioural problems. Costa is a lot more pre-meditated, calculated and nasty. Suarez had tantrums and was instinctive.

He spent a lot of time complaining and rolling around (At least at the start)

My point was more, if he was in another team, people probably wouldn't have wanted Suarez either. Most people I know who supported other sides hated him.

Sure Suarez was a bit cheaty, but he never came across as malevolent as Costa does.

Back in the 90's my mate told me that Oyvind Leonardsen was regarded as one of the true hard men of football going back to his Wimbledon days. No idea if this was true mind.

I used to know John Lukic a bit and he told me Steve Bould was widely regarded as the hardest man in the game at the time and that he once nailed Vinny Jones in a tunnel.

Vinny Jones was a bit of a wet fish wasn't he? Portrayed a hard man image, but everyone in that Wimbledon side saw him as a bit of a joke figure?

Dont think Vinny Jones was that tough

                    Was all an act

Lukic said Jones could definitely handle himself. Also said that Arsenal squad was full of hardmen but not one of them would **** with Bould.

Costa has been doing that sort of stuff for years, elbows, kicks, stamps , spits, head butts on the sly. He wants a reaction... he's a class player but he really is a first class prick.

In saying that you'd love to have him in your team.

Vinnie Jones was a thug who made it big. I bought him a drink in a nightclub once, had a good laugh. ****ing hard though, no two ways about it. Streetfighter.

Heard plenty of tales about Vinnie and his "hardman image" which was just that

There is a story about Vinnie Jones in Jimmy Case's book and how he went for Case when he played for Southampton (or Brighton cant remember). Case said Vinnie then spent the rest of the game shadowing the referee after Case had told him he was looking for him

I can only think of Carragher, but he hardly looks like a tough lad. Maybe you mean Gerrard until he started to decline? Reina? He took out Robben once
                              Forwards.......
