Feel sorry for him, he's really struggling since the injury. He doesn't seem as mobile and passing wise he's mostly gone into his shell.

He's symptomatic of one of our problem areas - leadership.
He just doesn't have the persona in terms of quality, character, or both, to lead the club. The same applies with Milner.
With Grujic able to get forward too, Can is the only deep, 'defensive' player. With Wijnaldum a forward thinking player, Henderson appears to be being remodeled into a deep playmaker (excuse the Football Manager terminology). At best, he's a squaddie, but I maintain since the back end of last season, he doesn't have the specialist qualities needed for a Klopp system.

I think it's also the role he is playing, which he isn't suited to, the position he played in 13-14 suited him, but not sure if he can play that role now due to the effect or the injuries or due to the change in players around him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Because when you are counter attacked you need someone who holds positions and breaks up the counter attacksOriginally posted by dom9 View PostI haven't seen the game, but apparently we had something like 80% possession.
Why the DM talk? I don't understand why you'd need one if the other team don't have the ball.
To me it's horses for courses but against lesser teams we should play a DM otherwise we are wide open to counter attacksBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I don't think that you need a DM as such, you just need CMs who have an awareness of the situation and don't over commit. Our current CMs don't really have any defensive awareness. I think that the our team switches between 'attack mode' and 'defence mode' and when in one of these modes they have no awareness or thought about the other side of the game, it's as if we only ever play attack vs defence in training and the players never think about the transition between the two.Originally posted by Lecter View PostBecause when you are counter attacked you need someone who holds positions and breaks up the counter attacks

I don't think those players exist and if they do they are already at top clubsOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostI don't think that you need a DM as such, you just need CMs who have an awareness of the situation and don't over commit. This is why I think we have to play a dedicated holding player particularly in games like thatBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
