It's really odd how many fans seemed to turn against Henderson after one season ruined by injury.

It's fair enough to question if he should remain a guaranteed starter or if he's the right fit for the midfield going forward from now, but he's still a very good player.

His finishing isn't always great but his passing, holding on to the ball and work rate are all very good. He actually has a more than decent assists record for a centre midfielder too.

To start calling him **** and rubbishing him is nonsense.

I've nothing against Hendo's injury record, I just don't think he's very good. If we want to compete at the top we need someone with far superior technical ability in his position.
The same goes for Sakho, and I mention him because he's another that people rate highly.

I wasn't talking about his injury record. I meant I don't remember all this amount of fierce criticism of him as player before his injury problems last season.

If you think we need better than him to challenge for the title then that seems a fair opinion.

            Exactly.

He had ****loads in his first three seasons. Much of it OTT imo. I always rated him. His career has mirrored Lucas's in many respects.
              Oh I don't know.

Certainly in his 1st season he did. But I thought a lot of fans started to rate him more from around midway way through his 2nd season.
By his 3rd and 4th season there were plenty who considered him an important part of the team.

the suarez factor. he made many 5/10 players into 7/10.

there is the klopp factor to consider. maybe he will be able to buff a shine onto some of the players.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

If we play with three in midfield. Will Jordan start or will it be Can, Lallana and Win...?

I imagine it will be a combination of all 4 over the course of the season. In some games there may even be substitutions where one of them replaces the other.

Suarez only played in one of Henderson's best 2 seasons.
In terms of goals and assists, his best season to date is the Suarez-less 14/15 by quite some margin.

Plantar is a long term condition that will only resolve by itself - maybe that why you think he's had lots of injuries when in fact he has had very few?
Prior to last season he's hardly been injured at all.

One of the most significant factors in us not winning the league that year was Henderson getting a red card against city.

We won the game but it was one of those moments when he went off when you felt uh oh, this could be a problem for us.

He was a crucial part of that team and I look forward to seeing him back and having similar impact.

He could score more though.. But he's another who doesn't look a natural ball striker.

I didn't realise it at the time - but looking back that was a massive moment when he was sent off, against City.

Not fit to be in our first team squad never mind club captain. The most crucial position in our team and we have a bang average player there. Should have been priority one at the start of the window.
