horrendous for him - he's struggled for a couple years now - I just can't see him ever being 'ever present'..... i'd say he still has a part to play in the squad, but for me i'd say we need two top class cm's and hand the armband to someone else - hopefully a new top class leader

    keita
    new top cm
    Lallana

    with cover/competition from
    can
    wijnaldum
    Henderson
    grujic

that's the sort of options you need in midfield
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

One friendly and one qualifier? I'm not sure how missing them through already being injured helps him.

Positive would be him being fit and able to get a full pre season.

Since when has being injured stopped LFC players being picked and forced to play for England?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

What is the story with Henderson?

Can't help but think we need a captain who is less injury prone (Big Virgil?). Henderson is a real asset when he is available, he is just injured far too often for captaincy.

speaking after Sunday’s 3-0 win at home over Middlesbrough, Henderson was in a positive mood.

“I’m good. I’m definitely going in the right way,” he told LFCTV on Sunday.

“I feel probably the best I’ve felt in terms of throughout my injuries so far.

“It’s a little bit too late now the season’s finished, but I’ve got all summer to get back to where I want to be.

“So come pre-season, I should be OK.”

The "easy" answer is to bring in some real quality at CM this summer.

Then if Henderson if fit, our players compete for the spots in CM and have to keep their performances up, and if he has another season hit by injury then we have the new quality CM there to keep our current guys on their toes.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

And then we can buy again in the winter if need be. We should be well stocked in midfield with Can, Keita, Lallana, Coutinho, Wijnaldum and Oxlaid-Chamberlain.

We, 100% can't be relying on Henderson. He could have these feet issues throughout his career and if so he could be managed accordingly but we can't be considering him a first team player if that is the case.

And the quotes after the game say he should be ready for pre-season which indicates how unreliable he could be.

I went to the Hertha v RB Leipzig game at the Olympic Stadium a couple of weeks ago and saw Naby Keita playing a real box to box, energetic and ambitious central midfield role for Leipzig. He was absolutely everywhere, he dominated the whole midfield both with passing and energy. He'd be absolutely perfect for the Henderson role from what I saw, and if they are both available, he looked like he'd be spot on more advanced as well. Some player.

Underlining how important Henderson is .....from an article on football365 about the best midfield players in the league

ll these stats refer to players who played only in midfield and logged at least 2,000 minutes.

Player number one: he was the busiest player in the league, making 87.4 passes per 90 minutes.

Player number two: he had the best touch in the league among midfielders, guilty of only 0.4 unsuccessful touches per 90 minutes.

Player number three: he was the hardest midfielder to dispossess, losing the ball to an opponent only 0.5 times per 90 minutes.

Take your time on this one.

Need hints? All three of these players played for a team in red shirts.

More? All three of these players wore number 14.

The answers? Jordan Henderson, Jordan Henderson, and Jordan Henderson. And from now on, that’s JFH for short.
