Big pity that Xabi Alonso is retiring because i think he would have been perfect for LFC next season. Come off the bench and dictate the play. And I think that the likes of Henderson and Emre Can would really benefit from playing / training alongside someone like him too. I think if you asked Gerrard did his development benefit from being alongside Gary McAllister all those years ago for a year or two, then the answer would have been yes.
If Klopp things that Ings and Origi can both stake a claim to being Liverpools first choice #9, then Defoe mightn't be a bad shout for a year or so.
