Interesting how he has 3 times as many tackles as Dier - thought he was considered to be one of the best DM's in the league?
It would be useful to know how many minutes they'd each played to get a better idea...

According to Whoscored.com their PL minutes are...

      Rooney - 478

      Alli - 558

      Dier - 421

      Henderson - 614

So in terms of the listed stats versus minutes played, Henderson still stacks up well.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

        Cheers

Not quite as wide a gap as it first looks but as you suggest, still some way ahead of those others! He's come on really well in this new role. Credit to Hendo first and foremost but the way Klopp has got this working as well as Milner at LB is inspired.

Just wanted to come on here and say well done to Jordan , fantastic turn around on the pitch since August when I thought we didn't need him in the team anymore.

Klopp certainly worked his magic on our English players , Lallana and Milner as well

Really appreciate Hendo's work rate and the passing stats are great but I just wish he'd be a wee bit more positive in possession. He has it in his locker to be some decisive progressive passes but so many today went back to the defenders and invited pressure on them and the keeper. United were pressing us so high it really was compounding matters.

Him and Can got in each others way in the first half and both we poor. Long term he might not be in the team with a more creative deep midfielder ala Dahoud, Neves etc in his place.

At one point I thought someone was going to run onto the pitch and give him a thump the next time he sought out the defence.

Not a terrible game from him, just too regressive.

Think Can being rusty (first half) didn't help. Get what you're saying about Hendo but he's starting to look consistently good. He certainly wasn't outshone by £90m Pogba.
                      Another MASSIVE game

Agree with all abvoe. Yeah not saying he was bad at all... maybe first half both our CM's struggled but yeah too regressive on times. Manc's did do well to press us high though to be fair to them.

Weird, I saw Henderson completely differently to that. The team as a whole were poor in the first half, and he picked up in the second. He was a physical presence athletically and bossed **** like Pogba. I liked him tonight.

Can had a back problem and didn't train for the last two days it seems. It showed.

I too would have liked had Henderson been a bit more positive but when you are the last of the 3 midfielders you can only take so many chances with a bold pass. It's a recipe for disaster against a team like Utd.

Pogba was awful, Hendo so much better tonight that him. Personally I thought Can was the one that really pushed on and improved in the second half. Both struggled in the first half against Fellaini and Herrera.

Hendo has got more consistency IMO to be fair to him and he's still learning the role but I do wish he'd be more commanding on the ball & a bit more positive. I hate those possession stats posted, not really a fair view of things.

I get that mate but his passes to our defenders IMO invited their high press on even more, especially in the first half & even though the movement wasn't great from us today he could give us a bit more impetus if he had the confidence to pick a more progressive pass from time to time. He has the ability to do that.
