100% this - Milly and Hendo and their standard are gone…… now let others step up and we can have the freshest of fresh starts. I’m surprised he’s gone there tbh but the Gerrard factor plus that club’s president is a huge red is why they pushed for him

His legs were gone and his contract was an absolute milestone - this is very exciting tbh and let’s see our data and analytics guys earn their money now

I feel the need to somewhere put on record (this place is as good and as meaningless as any) my profound disappointment with this move.

Henderson seemed to hold himself to a higher moral standard more than not just other footballers, but the rest of us.

He was a visibly present supporter of equality in all its forms, he's organised his colleagues to do more and give more to society during the pandemic.

That, to me at least, was important. It was more than purely playing for my team.

So now he's basically chucked all of that into the bin and he's taking the blood money from people who he was previously vocally critical of, at least implicitly if not explicitly. He's killed his legacy.

For what, going from being able to afford a Ferrari or two per week to maybe owning his own yacht? Or is it actually for footballing reasons?

Either way, I'm really pissed off with this.

I'm ****ed off with any player or manager going to the middle east to be the face of a sportwashing project. But with Henderson, it is much worse.

I think it's just optics mate. Like when footballers say things to appease the fans. It sounds good so say it. He clearly knew if he signed that it would make him look like a grade a disingenuous cunt. As I said previously, I'm looking forward to the statement he makes. I have no doubts it'll be some bull**** word vomit about trying to change the system within and working to achieve blah blah blah.

I'm just delighted we got a few quid for a bloke on a few hundred grand pw that couldn't run.

    He's a vacuous cunt then.

I hope the entire Saudi football 'project' falls flat on its arse and Henderson et al are left high and dry.

The thought process is "Show me the money"

    Not angry just disappointed.

Its an incredible kick in the teeth for the LBGT+ community

The rainbow laces campaign did incredible work and he was at the forefront of it.

He's now ****ing off to play in a country where homosexuality is outlawed and if caught practicing you could be executed by the regime there.

The thought process behind his move is a hard circle to square.

His words from less than a year ago now ring exceptionally hollow

Look up what he wrote about why he chose to support Rainbow Laces.

Not hard to understand why that community would feel betrayed by him now.

I don’t think the sentiment is anger, rather disapproving head shaking. It’s the internet in 2023, even people posting typos are cunts.
