    Jordan Henderson

True but some people can't afford to make moral choices. They buy cage eggs, drive older cars, buy non organic produce.

Being held to ransom by monopolies isn't a criticism, we still have to participate in society.

But if you can afford to make better choices then you should be held to a higher standard.

Yes Henderson has been a good player for us but a servant? I hate that saying, he's handsomely paid to kick a sportsball and train hard.

I get what you’re saying but I don’t see a price on morality. Most people would agree that fossil fuels are bad for the environment and are carcinogenic but continue to drive petrol/diesel cars. Most people would agree that there’s a great deal of animal cruelty in the production of meat but, nevertheless, continue to eat meat. Most people would agree that there are human rights issues in China and India but continue to buy electrical goods and clothes that are made in those countries. All of us would agree that the Sun newspaper and its owner are morally bankrupt but most have probably subscribed to Sky/Foxtel at some point.

Anyway, I think Henderson has been a brilliant servant and captain of our club. He also hasn’t been afraid to voice opinions on player welfare, racism, gay/lesbian issues and concerns with the last World Cup. He’s made a difference. Hopefully he’ll continue to make a difference. Good luck to him. Now’s the right time for him to leave. We get good money (more than we got for Bobby and Wijnaldum) which can be reinvested in new players.

Henderson seemed to hold himself to a higher moral standard more than not just other footballers, but the rest of us.

He was a visibly present supporter of equality in all its forms, he's organised his colleagues to do more and give more to society during the pandemic.

That, to me at least, was important. It was more than purely playing for my team.

So now he's basically chucked all of that into the bin and he's taking the blood money from people who he was previously vocally critical of, at least implicitly if not explicitly. He's killed his legacy.

For what, going from being able to afford a Ferrari or two per week to maybe owning his own yacht? Or is it actually for footballing reasons?

Either way, I'm really pissed off with this.

I'm ****ed off with any player or manager going to the middle east to be the face of a sportwashing project. But with Henderson, it is much worse.
Agreed. And it's pure greed. A Liverpool captain should be unattainable, not one who goes at the thought of 3 or 4 times earnings as soon as possible.

Get that its a short career, but would've thought being a Liverpool captain and being a bit part would've outweighed cash. Many happy he's off the books but still think he cared a lot more than most.

Obviously £ driven. Player (probably) or club.. Not a good look.

And, fwiw (not £), uve just chosen to retire from international football.

Does anyone think Jordan Henderson staying at Liverpool would have led to political change in Saudi Arabia?

I don’t understand the bitterness. As for the transfer, it’s the right decision for all concerned. However, I won’t be watching Hendo, Bobby, Fabinho and Gerrard next season.

The other hypocrisy in the whole thing was he still played for England despite being past his peak physically....... But surely he has retired from international football now too

Glad it’s been wrapped up quickly & not gone on strike or such but his image as our captain has been tainted IMO.

'Easy decision': Ruben Neves reveals main reason he swapped Wolves for Saudi Arabia

That's a lot of words for "greed"

Football has entertained me for years but I reckon I'll be out in a few years wondering why I spanned time with these mercenaries.

I love him but maybe its time to put a midfielder in who can actually give us assists and goals. He did neither last season.

Said it recently in a reply to him that he did raise some valid points at times, with regards to Henderson, but that the manner in which he did so pretty much removed any chance of debate.

Difficult to see whay people should be sending him apologies unless of course I missed some personal stuff being said to him.

Oh and in case I forget to say it again today, you still have a **** non beard.
You know I was taking the piss, was just a wind up

Also he didn't bother me in th slightest if I'm being honest. Some people are very easily offended, clearly I am not one of those.
