We need to start with oxlade and bring minamino on for last 20-25, build him up so he is then ready to start v Bournemouth.

What about Van Dijk and Kante?Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostWe really missed Henderson's positioning and tactical awareness. It's attributes like these that people don't see when they talk about 'world class' or player of the year awards. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Henderson is the modern day Ronnie Whelan
I am not saying this is the case with everyone but look at social media, loads of "fans" on there want him out of the team, even at the match theres people who constantly criticise him. The opposition fans under estimate him
This is all just like Whelan was undervalued back in the day but like Ronnie, Henderson is the glue in this team hes the one that knits a lot of the system together and when hes out (like Whelan) its quite noticeable there is a drop off in areas some of which are very important to how we playBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

If I remember correctly Molby was meant to be the main man at the beginning of the season around 85/86 but got injured, Whelan took over and never let Molby back in.Originally posted by Lecter View Post

We absolutely missed him in those last few games, his absence was definitely key to us not controlling the games

Think Molbys injury was in 86-87 season because Molby played in the FA Cup final in 1986 (alongside Kecin MacDonald) Whelan played on the left of midfield that dayOriginally posted by Yerman View PostIf I remember correctly Molby was meant to be the main man at the beginning of the season around 85/86 but got injured, Whelan took over and never let Molby back in.

1986-!987 was a bad year for injuries as didnt MacDonald break his leg, Molby had his big injury and Beglin broke his leg which finished himBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Funnily enough, I recently watched the highlights of the 86 Cup final (our 3rd goal was excellent - could easily be a goal scored by the current team). Anyway, I didn't realise (forgot?) that Bob Paisley was on the Liverpool benchOriginally posted by Lecter View PostThink Molbys injury was in 86-87 season because Molby played in the FA Cup final in 1986 (alongside Kecin MacDonald) Whelan played on the left of midfield that day

Just picking up on another point about Whelan, in one of Bob Paisleys books he says that he field more transfer enquiries for Whelan than for any other player during his tenure as manager and the fact that he knocked them back should tell you everything about him as a playerOriginally posted by Yerman View PostIf I remember correctly Molby was meant to be the main man at the beginning of the season around 85/86 but got injured, Whelan took over and never let Molby back in.
