Read a few other posts, and looks like John Doe of all people was quite the visionary when it came to Hendo.
of course you did, but it's ok because I was a critic

He is now one of the best CM in the world, after those first few seasons at LFC, I don't think there is any football fan in the world who could ever have imagined such a miraculous turn around. Amazing story

To be fair to you Dan, if Rodgers had gotten his way, your old post would have ended up looking pretty accurate!

I loved 2013/14 Henderson, all energy, box to box, scoring goals. But I initially wasn't so keen when he became more of a holding MF. I thought his best form was behind him.

I even said that apart from Migs/Karius, he's the one regular player who is the most upgradable! ****in hell

But in the last 18 months - 2 years, he's completely proved me wrong too.

We'd have won in Rodgers run if Henderson hadn't been suspended IMO. He's been key for a while.

Think that season was where he found his mojo. Was **** in season after but so was everyone so can't blame him.

I think that too, Henderson has had patches he took a couple of years to get going but was massive in that season, as his role changed after that there were again questions about his ability but the last 2 or 3 years he has been absolutely outstanding.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

forgot about Brendan trying to offload him to Fulham. 13/14 was a great season for him alright. Like I said previously I don't any of the managers knew where to play him and I don't think Hendo himself knew what his best position was. Klopp has moulded into a world class CM.

            Incredible last 2 seasons alright

At times, I'd like it if he took more of a chance, or tried to play between the lines more, but overall I can't fault him. He's young and needs to learn how to impose himself on the game better and that will come with time, we've seen similar players have this problem when they play for big team (Marchisio springs to mind). We have him for many years, so can therefore develop him into the player we need. I don't really have a problem with him, he hasn't been fantastic, but there's been enough signs to show that he should become a pretty good player.

As I said a few months ago, I'd have liked to have seen him play more cameo performances, coming on for the last 25-25 minutes and changing a game late as he did a few times, but we don't have enough quality and depth in his position, so it means he'll have to start the majority of games. I don't think he's ideally suited to playing with the other players we have currently available - Adam, Gerrard and Spearing, but he offers something a little different which can add stability to the team. I think the expectations upon him are harsh, he's clearly not a genuine ball winner so I'm not sure why some are expecting him be crashing into challenges, and on the other hand he isn't exactly Xavi either. But overall I think he's a good player, whom will grow and become better, and therefore a better asset to the team.
Not a bad assessment of him in Feb 2012, I thought I was going to find myself saying he was pure **** or something Think the Marchisio comparison is pretty apt, particularly considering how they developed and how their careers have panned out. Think Marchisio's progression gave me hope that Henderson could do something similar, because his first couple of seasons looked almost identical. Lucas was a lot better but also started a bit like that come to think about it, just a bit too timid.

Spearing, Shelvey and Adam. Dark times indeed, we've come a long way in a short time.

Have to admit I have been frustrated with him at times and remember thinking he was someone who should be moved to a squad player when we finally get Keita in.

Someone said it above, he has had to live in Gerrard's shadow. What an impossible task, following that guy! I think winning the CL has helped Hendo drive on, and make it his own. Since then he has been amazing, like a weight is lifted off his shoulders - and has had his best season yet. He's written himself into the history books, champions league and prem league - and hopefully many more to come of both! And when he hangs up his boots, god help the poor keynt that has to live in his shadow!!

You can see he has good touch and awareness and always tries to inject pace and directness into his play, he can pick a pass, and I'd imagine in another season he can get a few goals. He has joined the club at a bad time, been played more than he should have in his first season and suffered. But there is some genuine potential in his play (he is only 21 FFS) I see him the same way Lucas was a few years ago, Hendersons technique and attitude are sound (as was Lucas) but he needs more coaching to fulfill his potential and take his game on another level. Compare Henderson to say Downing, who at 27 should be nearing his peak, but doesn't have the bottle to make it a bigger club. He should be a senior player, one a young guy like Henderson can look to when the chips are down. But Downing shows nothing. He doesn't inspire, he just does nothing.

Comfortably my least favourite Liverpool player ever. I hated him before we signed him and somehow managed to hate him more afterwards. I've never seen a player so good at hiding whilst maintaining a high workrate. Just constantly running nowhere. Over 60 PL games and £20m just a few seasons after we refused to pay 12m for Dani Alves.

And the fact he's my least favourite player is saying something considering he had Konchesky behind him for a good 6 months of his spell.

Konchesky was ****ing garbage. So clearly ****ing garbage as well.

I can't believe Downing pulled on the shirt 65 times. I've pretty much no memory of him with us at all (which backs up what you are saying).

When you think of it, with regards to Hendo in these years. Who is going to look like a world beater at 21 with a team involving the likes of Downing, Charlie Adam, Spearing, Konchesky? Nobody that's who.

Downing... I cannot remember one thing he did in a Liverpool shirt. Peobably the biggest waste of space ever to wear the shirt.

At least Traore made me chuckle a few times and tried to do good.
