Gerrard had to do it himself, The pressure on him was immense as he was often a great player, surrounded by ****e and had to do it himself. Henderson has world class talent round him, I am sure he knows he never will be the most talented player at the club so has to lead in other ways. He is without doubt a wonderful leader, not sure you could say that about Gerrard. Also I think Henderson has to do it the hard way, Imagine a manager thinking swapping you with Clint dempsey was a good idea

It's a pointless and futile conversation, but whatever, it's what I think.
I was having this conversation tonight. The fact its even a conversation is a credit to him because at one time it seemed impossible!

Gerrard was more than just a player, he had be our talisman, cover multiple positions and drag us through mediocrity. But, Henderson right now is what we need. He isn't a better player, but we have almost broke him as a person to be the ideal captain for us. I ****ing love him.

Yep, my exact sentiments...just wondered how would Henderson do if he had to deal with such ****e as much as Gerrard had to put up with...Maybe Henderson learnt from Gerrard to appreciate the good times now more!

Gerrard did not play with ****e all the time. The team Rafa built was good enough to win the league and nearly did.
            Are we winning?

The ****e I was referring to was 2003/2004 (Houllier's last year), 2010/2011(Under Hodgson) & 2014/2015 (After Suarez left)...obviously, that last year was the straw that broke the camel's back for Gerrard.

At his prowling and patrolling best tonight. Proper captains performance. He is great to watch positionally, how he senses when someone has gone forwards (Even Williams a couple of times) Hendo drops in. Robbo forward, Hendo drops in. Trent Forward. Hendo drops in.

                  He is literally getting better.

BBC Sports Personality of the Year if ever I've seen one.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Was thinking about that potential little Christmas bonus today. Statesman like, a winner, handsome. SPOTY in waiting.

Henderson will go down in history as one of our best captains ever. Totally awesome tonight.

No surprise here. At that rate, PFA player of the year awaits.

He is as important to us as Alonso was. I am not saying he was as talented. But he is such a vital cog for this team - pulling strings, positioning players, covering gaps, leading the press, and in general maintaining the tempo.

I think he will make a good coach one day. Perfect combination of head and heart.
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I was thinking the same last night, listening to his post match interview.

I think he may well prove a more long term option as manager for us than Gerrard.

I think there will be a day soon when a post that highlights how good Hendo is doesn’t have to be caveated!
