Somehow I can't see the likes of Luka Modrić doing this sort of bollocks. Due to their skill and footballing savvy, when players like Gary Mac get old, they can still contribute. The problem with **** footballers is that when their physical attributes are on the wane they have have **** all to fall back on. It doesn't matter how "shredded" a player is when opponents are breezing by as if said shredded player is running on the spot like a cartoon character, and they can't contribute in any other way. They do seem to send pulses racing among certain sections of the fanbase, though........

Just throwing something out there. Is he imaginative enough? The best older players are but it's not a characteristic I associate with him.
Imaginative players can see threats others can't, opportunities others can't - or just dream that 3-0 down isn't the end..

Yes, he has been a star for us, but it feels like that has been achieved through graft, which is not the same.

Where are you doing your reading Jaco, the Henderson family WhatsApp group?

I'm sure on there there's even a cousin or two calling him crap at every opportunity.

That made me laugh as someone I know gives out to me all the time for not being on any social media at all for a few years now, and as such I am not available to get messages on whatsapp/FB etc.

Just saying my opinion of him along with what some folk of here, those whose comments stuck in my head that is, have said about him.


I may be drifting miles from shore with my thinking on this, maybe it is a case that more slag him off than give him due credit and I just tend to notice them less.

Most people tend to say he has been one of the better/best captains the club has had on and off of the pitch but that he is now in the latter stages of his career and slowing down greatly.


For me he is the best captain we have has since the start of the 1990s, I have to go back to the 1980s to find a few names from my time watching the team that I rate a bit higher than him on that front.


Granted you will get a few online voices that will stick the knife into him without acknowledging the good stuff, but generally I get the impression he will have a very good legacy at the club after he hangs up his boots.

All the Lucas haters needed someome to have a go at once he went. I think it will be Trent next.
