It would be a bit weird to see Trent berating team mates for lacking concentration. After last season, it would be ridicous to expect him to step up imho. He needs s bit more seasoning first, but he is still pretty much the junior player in the team.

Yeah as I said earlier I think either Robbo or Virg should be the new captain & if Klopp thinks Trent has it in him to lead us someday then give him the VC gig.

Trent for me, might be his coming of age a bit like Gerrard when he was young and had been given the responsibility. Virgil won't provide longevity and I don't believe keepers make good captains as they can't influence the game or the officials anywhere near as easily as an outfield player.

Trent still has 'drop the ball' moments like most young players, so maybe this extra responsibility will make him switch on 100% of the time... and he's local, so who better.

A keeper can't leg it up the pitch to chin the ref so easily.
And as for not playing well... henderson!!!!!!!

Ali for captain. Virgil needs to concentrate on upping his game as he was woeful at times last season. The constant backing off attackers needs to stop. He's too laid back to be captain. Ali demands respect. Most consistent player too.

Being a good leader is knowing when its time. Hyypia gracefully gave up the armband for Gerrard when the time came. Personally I thought Gerrard should have waited, but Hyypia didnt even blink.

All good teams have multiple captains on the pitch. A cliche but true. Ali, VVD, Robbo, Mo are all great leaders and would make good captains.

I would be tempted to give it to Trent personally. Just something that feels right about a local lad having it. It just means more.

It is a tricky/awkward one taking it off Henderson though, he's been a great leader over the years, but I think it is time now.
