I do not think he will go either and like you I do think that there will be a PR campaign as a result.

However I would see that as having more positives than negatives if it highlights what is going on with regards to image washing and would see that side of it as being more important than whatever back slapping was going on.

I think he'll go tbh, this is a huge offer, and he'll peddle some **** about making a difference in Saudi or something like and we'll never hear from him again, or any other of the Saudi players and staff, hopefully.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I’d be shocked if he goes. Jurgen won’t want him to, home grown quota issues, his previous statements etc.

I hate to say it, but you’re all going to have to put up with him for another couple of years yet. Still - I don’t think some of the folks who moan about him, really want him to go. They enjoy it too much.

Henderson has been openly pro inclusion/diversity and has led players in many campaigns so this would be a full 180% turn - I don’t see him giving up his morals
The club in question are not one of the 4 owned by PIF and don’t have the same level of money as the ones Ronaldo, Benzema etc went to - there’s no way they can afford it
The news broke by Dominic King who helped him write his autobiography
Henderson has form in the past for running to the media (Ornstein) saying PSG and AM wanted him when he was chasing a big contract

I think the offer is being exaggerated, I think he’ll turn it down and everyone will say how great he is for refusing the money and he’ll spend the next two seasons with us on his huge wages

Big PR conspiracy theory from me and I might look like a massive plonker if he takes the money and goes
I think there could be something in this, as I don't see how this makes sense for the player (large amounts of cash aside - given his campaigning history etc) or the Saudi club, no disrespect to Henderson but he's not a player you would offer that kind of money to. They aren't PIF funded and are supposedly a midtable club, for all Henderson's qualities he doesn't seem like the player to turn their fortunes around especially when competing against PIF backed clubs.

Also the suggestion that they will pay £700k a week wages but want him for free or for ~£10m as seems to be suggested is a piss take, something doesn't add up here
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I agree as most of the other players offered big wages have gone there on a freebie

They are state owned and as such bank rolled. Their listed owner is the office of Ministry Of Sport.

The guy that runs the Ministry of Sport is Turki Alalshikh, an advisor to the Crown Prince and the husband of the singer Amal Maher, the same woman who went "missing" for daring to try to file a lawsuit against her husband.

OK, I didn't know that, just repeating what I have read elsewhere a few times, I know **** all about Saudi football

Know very little about it myself.

I just googled the club, then googled it's owner and that basically lead back to the Ministry of Sport which then leads back to the Royal family there.

****ing hell Nev, be careful or you'll put put in the conspiracy theory corner with me. Here's another theory, maybe the Saudi's seen his cringey inspirational muscle & sweat vid and were compelled to put a huge offer in to see those guns in close and personal.

I actually genuinely don't care if Hendo and Fab go once better players are brought in.

If both go we lose alot of experience, our most experienced midfielder playing in this side would be Thiago. We need to bring in a big player with experience to replace them, but that still wouldn't necessarily be the same, I don't think you can underestimate the value of someone who has done it all in the league and CL and is familiar with all (most) of their team mates, even if they aren't playing regularly.

We have Allison, Robbo, Trent, VVD, Thiago, Mo who are big characters and seasoned pros. Several of them captain their countries.

Sell Hendo and Fab and get Caicedo and Lavia
