It's the coaching hahahah that's hilarious. If that's the case why was Lovren not dropping back all the time v Rubin when partnered with Sakho? Was he ignoring the managers instructions that's not good! It's quite blatantly not tactical, when things get tough people will go for their comfort zone, what they know etc that's his way. Look at the fear on him when Papiss Cisse was running at him or Barkley in the Derby when he put that shot wide in the second half, he's terrified. Tactical, what a lot of drivel.
Good to see you give a football opinion for once though Kenny, even if it is spectacularly wrong.

Who did we have on the bench to replace him ?Originally posted by Kenneth View PostSo we'll go with the idea that he goes off on one game after game, season after season yet somehow has maintained his position in the first eleven. Sounds legit.
Ayala or Coates or Hobbs or IIori or Kelly or Pellegrino or Touré or Traoré
We have not had proper competition at CB for years .. the last time we had competition at CB ironically was when Marty was 3rd choiceAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

I am not convinced he does it game after game but he did on Sunday and it cost us a goal, just like it did against Newcastle when he did the same againOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostSo we'll go with the idea that he goes off on one game after game, season after season yet somehow has maintained his position in the first eleven. Skrtel is not our worst defender but he was at fault for their 2nd on Saturday because he dropped offBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

While I agree that Skrtel is probably our worst defender at the moment. Clearly its down to coaching as well. He is probably caught between his instincts and what he is being told to do. Which is why he is caught out of position all the ****ing time.Originally posted by Chris View PostIt's the coaching hahahah that's hilarious. I will always respect Skrtel for his loyalty to us, but the longer he goes on the more he will tarnish his memories now. Agger left at the right time, maybe he should look to his mate for similar advice.*Except Michael, who died.

It is not down to coaching.
On what planet do you coach 3 defenders to be on 1 line and a 4th to be 5 yards deeper.
What possible logic could there be?
It's Skrtel reverting to his comfort zone because he knows he can't defend the space in behind.
You don't see Sakho or Lovren do it because they can (defend in behind) and when they are paired together you won't see 1 of them doing it as a 'tactic'
Most ridiculous thing I've read on here in a while and that's saying something. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Clearly not as a few think its coaching related.
As I said, I think its down to the manager telling him to do something that he is not comfortable with and making him hesitate. Its up to the manager to try and make him understand, if not bin him off.
His ability is primary of course, but more hesitation on an already poor player only makes him more prone to errors.*Except Michael, who died.

He's been through Rafa, some owl faced fella, Kenny, Rodgers and now Klopp. Klopp gets a pass at the moment due to his lack of time here but anyone thinks he's being coached to do so is crazy. You do not drop off into space on your own whilst the rest of the defence hold a line.
Skrtel can be a decent enough defender but he needs (as someone earlier said) the likes of a Carra to cajole him into the right positions, we don't have that currently and even if we did find that type of player now we need better at the back than Skrtel.

He has been both excellent and terrible under all of them. I just think he needs a clearly defined role and someone along side him as you say. Then he knows exactly what to do.Originally posted by RichC View PostHe's been through Rafa, some owl faced fella, Kenny, Rodgers and now Klopp. Klopp gets a pass at the moment due to his lack of time here but anyone thinks he's being coached to do so is crazy. His bigger problems is when he has to think, which I think agains speaks to his hesitation with all the info he is given. (For all we know he might not be given any)
I just dont think its as clear cut as 'Hes ****' or 'The coaching is the problem' Because I am pretty sure that under Rodgers people would be more inclined to blame the coaching, and with Klopp more inclined to blame the player.*Except Michael, who died.
