He's been excellent since becoming a regular starter last season. I think playing with Agger helps him too.

Yup, he's done really well so far this season. Hopefully he can keep developing and we can keep his partnership with Agger going.

I think Kenny and Clarke deserve a lot of credit. Bar Carra, every one of our defenders seemed to have excelled under them. Agger has always been an outstanding player, but he now looks just as good defending as he does attacking and our record with him playing under Kenny is scary. Johnson has hardly put a foot wrong under Kenny and has been very impressive on both sides. I’d honestly given up on Skrtel at one stage last year (which I rarely do with any of our players), I questioned his heading ability, thought he was too rash in the challenge and honestly couldn’t see anything that he excelled that that made him worth keeping. Don’t think he’s put a foot wrong since I made that post and the position should definitely be his to lose now. Then you have the likes of Flanagan, Robinson and Kelly slotting in seamlessly when required and although already proven at this level, we’ve integrated Enrique into the team with little bother at all.

I was actually surprised to hear we had the best defensive record on Sunday as because expectations were so high it feel like we were having a bad season. A solid defence is always a good base to build a successful team from, so all we need now is someone to start converting our chances.

Much better player with Agger next to him.

Even thinking he's Agger, striding out with the ball over the halfway line against Chelsea.

They are our best pairing at the back.

I never noticed the stats section on the offal before, shows the influence of the owners and what they believe in.

Puts the Carra's organisation skills myth to bed.

Playing really well, not a liability at all and seems to be recapturing the form he showed under Rafa in 2009. Him and Agger have barely played together in the grand scheme of things but they look a good pair and seem to complement each other really nicely.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yeah, Skrtel has proved me wrong with his form over the last year.

I said a while ago that he's a good third choice centreback but not good enough to be playing week in, week out. He's proved me wrong and I feel a lot more confident with him and Agger at the back than any other pairing we have.

The lack of hoofs forward from the back was refreshing.

If I’m not mistaken, that run was reminiscent of Skrtel in his early days. Perhaps it is a confidence thing and we’ll start seeing more of it now, especially if he’s playing alongside Agger.

He's done that before on some occasions. Only difference is that in the past when he's done it, you'd **** yourself. Now he does it with confidence.
