I'm sure people said that about Sterling but he's done alright without being loaned out. Sending a young player out on loan is not necessarily the magic formula.

Difficult situation with Ibe, he'd benefit most by playing games for us but that could be to the detriment of the side's performance.
The club is in a vastly different position to Rodger's first season in charge when he kind of had the luxury of bedding Sterling in without too much pressure on results. That allowed Raheem to get used to the league and learn his trade much quicker, IMO, than if he'd gone on loan to a club in the Championship.

Its a difficult one.
With Sterling as you said you could bed him in, but this season is huge for us. We have a squad that has the depth to play the increased number of games. Having spent £45 on the likes of Lallana and Markovic you'd think they are going to be played ahead of Ibe; for that reason a loan move sounds beneficial.
On the other hand Ibe has shown glimpses that show he can play with the first team, not necessarily a starter but he can come on as a sub and stretch the game with his pace and direct style.
Personally I'd put him out on loan. He still has a lot to learn and would benefit from playing games every week. If we have spent this much money in the transfer window we shouldn't be in a position were we're forced to play Ibe. Our squad should be able to cope.
With Lallana's injury and question marks over Markovic, I'd keep Ibe for now. Championships clubs can do short-term loans between windows, so reassess in October, send him on 3 month loan if suitable, reassess again in January.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Lallana will only miss one or two games and should be back.
There are still question marks over Ibe too, a lot more than Markovic.

Having missed pre-season it might take a bit longer before he's fully fit and available.
Either way, it lessens the risk.
With our current squad we are taking a big risk expecting Markovic to hit the ground running, especially with fitness concerns over Sturridge and Lallana and adaptability concerns over Lambert. Letting a player who is used to the English game and used to the way we play go at this stage before we bring another attacker in would be foolish IMO and even if we do bring somebody else, I'd still be tempted to keep hold of him until October.

I think it is about having the chances to play. In a way he was lucky that we had a weak squad which allowed him to get games. The stronger our squad the harder for young players. People over emphasize the need for week in week out games but I do think a player who doesn't get any chances is less likely to kick on.
Sometimes though I think players are loaned out to teams with poor coaching or a non-suitable style of play and that is worse than staying around our setup.

Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe to join Bolton on loan as Dougie Freedman's patience pays off
The 18-year-old will not figure in Brendan Rodgers’ side this season following the summer arrivals of Lazar Markovic and Adam Lallana
Liverpool are ready to send whizz kid winger Jordon Ibe to Bolton on loan - and straight into Dougie Freedman’s side.
The 18-year-old will not figure in Brendan Rodgers’ side this season following the summer arrivals of Lazar Markovic and Adam Lallana.
However, the former Wycombe teenager is seen as a star of the future at Anfield – and Bolton chief Dougie Freedman plans to put him straight into his side.
Freedman has waited for Ibe and turned down other targets as he plans to put a new side together - and the deal could even be done tomorrow.
Ibe played 11 games in the Championship on loan at Birmingham last season, scoring once,
Wanderers will let winger Robert Hall go out on loan to give him games, with one of his old clubs Birmingham City keen to capture him.
