    Officially recalled

Liverpool FC can confirm that Jordon Ibe has been recalled from his loan spell with Championship side Derby County.

The 19-year-old joined the Rams on a temporary deal last August and made 24 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals.

All of his strikes were registered in league football, helping Derby reach their current position of second place in England's second tier.

Ibe now returns to Melwood and becomes available for immediate selection with the Reds, who tackle Aston Villa in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.

Manager Brendan Rodgers heaped praise on the youngster.

"He's a wonderful young boy, a wonderful young talent with a wonderful physique.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Think he's ineligible for both Cup comps having played for Derby.

So less than 2 weeks ago this wasn't on the cards.

Should have left him at Derby for the rest of the season. He's barely going to get any minutes for us, don't see the point of this

This is a really stupid move by the club.

Then again Rodgers probably wouldn't have recalled him without first outlining the matches in which he would surely participate.

It does seem a bit weird doesn't it. He was doing well at Derby and it would've been good for his development to leave him there for the season.

I guess he's coming back to cover for the busy January and February period.

Would he be eligible to go back to Derby after February? Don't Championship clubs have the option of bringing in players on a 93 day loan outside the window?

Don't understand this one, seemed he was in the right place. The only thing I can think of is we're wary of burning Sterling out and we'll lack pace without him?

Brendan Rodgers at the start of 2015.

“It is a loan to the end of season but we could bring him back if we need to because there is a review in January. If we do bring him back it will be to contribute. I’ve seen Jordon in a lot of the games and he’s been outstanding.”
Will he a better option than Balotelli, Lambert or Borini? He'd certainly give a fresh impetus of directness in our play when needed.

Yeah but aren't we still in talks to bring Origi back? Something must be going on in terms of players leaving, surely we'd have a bloated squad.

We obviously have have **** all money to buy anyone. He'll get **** all game time, bad move. Derby was a great place for him to play and develop.

Maybe Lallana could be out for longer than first expected. I would be quite happy to Ibe back and to see Origi come in. With these two, Sterling and Sturridge. There would be no respite for opposing teams

Is this the end of Borini on the bench? Time to take the hint Fabio!

Excellent news, I'm half happy. Get Origi back and I'll be done for this window thanks.

Best case scenario: Ibe and Origi take the league by storm like Coutinho/Sturridge when they were bought.

Worst case: Ibe and Origi struggle to settle into the pace of the premiership but over time become more than useful players by May. Have a brilliant pre-season and we have two world class players ready for kick off in August.

                                Win-win-win for me.

ps. here's some more mixed reviews from Derby fans: http://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17426-ibes-best-bits/
